If either one had obtained a super injunction (at vast expense) it would only be valid in the UK. Photos could still be published in the US and all other territories.

I don't know where that UA got the info, since the post is from September 2012, but it became VERY apparent that all the boys were allowed to be papped together, but no solo pic of Larry was published after 2012.

We know Harry has an injunction against some paps and part of it is the injunction against pics around his house. It's not uncommon for celebs to get these types of orders. Here's an excerpt from this post about super injunctions:

"But there’s another type of injunction called a super-injunction, which not only forbids the publishing of certain information or photographs but also explicitly forbids the media from reporting that the injunction was ever granted at all. Not only can they not publish the information, but they can’t even tell you that they’re not allowed to publish it. They just have to pretend as though it doesn’t exist.

If there is an injunction against the publishing of photos of Harry and Louis or information about them as a couple, then I would guess it’s probably a super-injunction. To the best of my knowledge, when those are granted in celebrity cases, they’re typically given in order to cover up a relationship that the people involved don’t want going to press."

A super injunction is something that is quite possible here. And by its nature, we would never know if it was true, because the point of it is that no one can say it exists.

The fact that there are no Larry pics in the press in the last ~8 years is a good indication that something like this is likely at play. Also the fact that most of the coverage of Larry in the press is either to say how good friends or not good friends they are, or to call Larry a conspiracy propelled forward by lunatic fans. -> That is a very controlled coverage. Larry as something that is actually real is pretty much non-existent in the media. So that can be another indication of some sort of injunction on the topic of HarryandLouis.

I don't know everything about this bc this is quite old info now and I wasn't in the fandom at the time.

Hi anon! That happens for a few reasons, actually. (Gabi had a great tag on that, where are you gabi 😅). First of all, I do think they can go around unnoticed quite easily, they can travel back and forth and go MIA for months. As for paparazzi, there’s actually a reason on why they were never papped together, even when they were in the band, it’s called super-injunction. There was a big scandal involving that ten years ago, read more here. And you can also read more about super-injunctions and how that would apply on their situation here. But it’s basically a photo ban that prevents media from publishing certain informations or relationships. A lot of celebrities use that to prevent an affair to go public. And if H&L have this type of photo ban in the UK, media is not allowed to publish any information about them.

Why else would the sun not run something. Those two hadn’t been publicly in the same place for 10 years, any site would have died to break that…if they actually could break that news.

It also makes sense that they chose for that “chance” meeting to have happened in the UK where that super injunction exists…the us would have been too risky.

We’ve been talking for years about the rumor that there’s a super injunction in place in the UK on stories/photos about Larry. I wouldn’t be in the least surprised if there were gag orders everywhere, as well.

Hi Gina. First I’d like to say what a blessing you are to this fandom. You are kind and patient and wise and rational and clever and I love reading your answers to asks. And I’d like to ask you smth, too. How come, in all those years, there are no pictures or videos of H and L together? I don’t know how exactly those super injunctions work but I readily believe they are the reason why there are no Larry photos in the press. because mass media is after all a self-checking, self-regulated system, that’s something one can actually control.

But how is it even possible to control regular individuals in this day and age when literally everyone has a smartphone with a camera?

Do H and L ever go out together? I suppose they do. In the places they go to, are there any bartenders, waiters, receptionists, janitors, whosoever or whatsoever? How is it possible no one ever, not once, has taken a picture or a video? Do they have, idk, gardeners or cleaners? How is it possible that in so many years none of folks who work for them happens to have a nosey niece or a daughter who is a fan and would kill for a Larry picture (of both H and L or individually)? Well, I’m fantasizing but I hope you get the point. I can’t just think of a plausible explanation of this complete absence of visuals. Like I mean, not even together, but at least at the same place at the same time? Nope. Nothing. Nada. (well, I know there was that event which L visited officially and then H was caught on camera while getting in the car, but it’s so public and happened just once). Can I ask what your take on that is?

P.S. Sorry if my wording or sentence structure looks weird at times, that’s because English is not my native language. In fact, I hardly ever get a chance to practice it.

Hi love. Your English is absolutely fine. No worries at all. And sending things via Ask is simpler, but this is okay. Don't worry about it.

I don't think I have an answer that will 100% satisfy you, but here are my thoughts:

1. Super injunction (which I believe is only in effect in Europe).

2. A generally agreed upon rule from tabloids/media not to out people (although I do think if any of them were sent photos/video there are some who might use it as leverage for more access etc)

3. Just like Harry and Louis know how to go about their lives on their own unseen, they can do the same when they're together, too. I doubt they're going to your local Tesco together, but they surely have private clubs, resorts, restaurants etc that they can be at without worry. They may arrive separately, but once there they can be together.

4. We do have numerous receipts over the years of things like pizza or Christmas trees being delivered to Harry's house and Louis receives them (or vice versa), workmen installing cabinets or fences or what have you at their houses and speaking with both of them, real estate agents helping both buy property together, people who've seen them on vacation together, people who've met them and they've talked about their partner/boyfriend etc etc. It's not photographic evidence, but a lot of the receipts we have are really convincing. I'm sure people who work for them, like gardeners etc. know to keep quiet and perhaps have signed NDAs.

6. The potato camera. Every time we have a video/photo that looks like we might possibly have seen them together (or one where they're not supposed to be) it's always ALWAYS taken with a potato.

Here’s the thing, though, love. First of all, if they have a super injunction, no one is allowed to talk about it. So its existence is just as likely as its non-existence. Second, the photo you’re talking about is not them at their house, or on a date. IIRC, it’s from an event the band attended. Paul is with them, still in his suit. I wouldn’t be surprised if whatever injunction there is, is different or not enforced when they’re together for a work related reason. Also, does one photo in 11 years (or however long it’s been) prove that there is no super injunction? Is it possible there wasn’t one in 2014, but there was later? There are too many holes in your theory for me.

So them having a super injunction is an assumption that seems to make a lot of sense given the lack of photos of them. I think, too, that wouldn’t be the only reason we haven’t seen photos of them together.

Their label definitely does not want photos like that getting out, so whatever relationships HL, their PR team(s), their label etc have with the press, would make a difference as to whether photos were printed.

We’ve talked ad Infinitum about the two of them knowing how to be private and how to go to exclusive places etc. so as not to be seen together.

There has been at least one rumor (perhaps there are more) of photos of them together being covered up (perhaps by pressure, perhaps with money)

If you look through the timelines that show where they are, there are literally months where we we don’t see them at all. Are we supposed to think they never leave their house and that’s why there are no photos (alone or together)?
