I’ve cried multiple times these last couple weeks. 😩 I’m emotional. It’s annoying and liberating all at the same time. 🥴 I’ve noticed that I’ve gotten tougher in business and more tender in my personal life where everything seems to just bring me to tears. 🥺 It’s like having “shallow” on repeat, you just can’t stop because you feel something. LOL. Honestly, there are just endless triggers. I’ll release the waterworks, take a deep breath, assess my feelings, accept them, and let them go. It’s a practice in remaining ~chill~ I guess. Juggling time zones has become a skill (does your BFF live in HK? I don’t think so! 🤪) and writing essay texts or FaceTiming is how I manage most of my deepest connections and relationships worldwide. It’s rough, but it’s where the heart is and frankly, I need the love from time to time. SISTERS AT SUNSET When you have an opportunity to pick up the pieces and make real connections to improving business or solving problems, take them. Don’t look for credit, look for resolution. Be thoughtful, be intentional. “Surprise and delight” people with your execution, make things right if they’re wrong. Do whatever it takes. 🌊PLAY WITH SOUND🌊 My niece is so sweet, so curious as she faced these waves. Screaming as they roll pass and through her tiny little legs and feet. I loved seeing her run back and forth as the sun came up on the horizon. I don't know if it's that I have a lot on my mind right now or I can't adjust back to my time zone, but I watched this just now SO reminded of what it means to be free. To be fearless and curious of everything and anything in sight. To be excited at the core of the unknown and patiently tested to reveal your real strengths, especially in times of restraint. To laugh to yourself because all the simple things, the joys in life, the unexpected ways the waves hit the shoreline, make music that tell you, "it's okay, slow down...this is your life happening, right now." OUT HERE "Sometimes you just gotta grab the universe by the face and kiss it!" - @sammmetz 🤗🌈😘 Word. Thank you universe for these moments. 🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺 On Saturday, I took my cousins to see @Kaskade for the first time in their home state of Hawaii. It goes without saying, it was kind of like a dream come true. ✨ I even put them to "work" 😅shouting out @kaskadekonnect while we gave stuff away to the most enthusiast of fans. I may now understand even an ounce of what Oprah feels like, haha 🤣(which is so dope because Oprah is a real hero)! But they really love Kaskade out here!! I don't blame them tho. The Hawaiian lifestyle is synonymous to his music. It's a powerful, life-giving thing!!! And I won't down play my evangelist abilities to spread this music and the experience that goes along with it. My life is DEFINED by so many shared music experiences, let alone, the relationships that have stemmed from them. It's only now that I understand the depth; after connecting the dots, revealing a real, meaningful purpose to me that's opened a floodgate of palpable inspiration and some of my best work yet (Team work makes all dreams work, trust me)!!! But with all that said, in all the music experiences I've had with Kaskade, nothing is better than sharing those first time moments with the people you love. Seeing them dance to music they've never heard before, throwing their hands in the air to feel the confetti or even snap a video, and seeing genuine ear to ear smiles lit across their faces even in the SQWuishyness of crowds and occasional summer rain--DAMN!!! It's priceless!!!! Bless all these glory days!!! And Bless my friend whom I miss and think about everyday, the root of it all, as it is she who laid the groundwork for all of us to stay forever invested and connected through this music-- #supcolleen!!!! HELLO 2017 ~ BACK IN JULY 2016 When no filter really means an angel's come to say hello. Unbelievable sight. Sam and I spotted the magic in the sky peeking from the clouds on our way home from Colleen's services. I had a random radio station playing in the background and it was almost as if we were being sent a message through the music. The songs played consecutively with no commercial: Ne-Yo - "Closer" Aerosmith - "Don't Wanna Miss a Thang" Pink - "Just Like Fire" (Then a song we don't remember the name to, but surprisingly knew the words to...) and lastly, Kelly Clarkson - "Stronger Maybe I was/am looking for a sign, a message to bring back, hold onto, to help me cope...I'm not sure. I think it's natural for me to look for one, even when there is no answer to Why. But some of those lyrics really spoke to me/us. We sang in the car and it meant something. It lifted me up, brought light into my soul, and then we saw this...Everything is energy, my friends. Believe that, above all else. 👋🏼👋🏼 Sup Colls!
