Honestly, I'm now more curious about the hint abt Lolth not having a say in Zak's resurrection - I knew she didn't have Zak's soul, but it seemed at the end of Boundless that Yvonnel had sent the prayer - so if not Lolth answering then who?

[[ The answer should be simple: Eilistraee, or maybe even Vhaeraun. If Bob actually cared about the rest of the Forgotten Realms and the work that a bunch of other creatives have put into it, there wouldn’t be the need for any of what’s quite honestly a load of contrived bullshit. 

However, Bob’s got a vendetta against Eilistraee because the existence of her and her followers threatened Drizzt’s only good drow special snowflake status. As such, Bob never acknowledges Eilistraee’s existence in his books, except during the Transitions where he throws shade her way by having Drizzt declare that her followers utterly failed. It’s really a shame, because having other goodly-aligned drow would make Drizzt a better and more nuanced character rather than the opposite, since there are bound to be fundamental differences between different people even if they happen to believe in a general similar thing, and exploring subtle differences is both more realistic and interesting than pretending they don’t exist. 

As it is, I suspect I know the answer of where Zak’s soul was/who answered, or rather, what answered, but it’s all speculation at this point. Nothing is confirmed in Boundless. Based on history and pattern of behavior, I doubt that Bob will finally acknowledge Lolth’s twins, but if he did, I’d be ecstatic and feel less dumb for holding out hope that he’ll improve despite consistent evidence otherwise. You know what Einstein said about the definition of insanity? That’s kinda how I feel like I am with still holding out hope for Bob. :P ]]

Dhana isn’t particularly fond of the paste used to brush her teeth. The feeling and sound of grit between her molars makes her skin crawl. She is prone to gagging should the topic be brought up, given the numerous accounts of teasing and pranking.

There's a long pause. Far be it for Geralt to enforce his will on her; despite what some small town men might say, a wife didn't constitute as their "property". Yet he knows her, and her stubbornness is a thing that could carry her far past reason, on the rare occasion or two.

This seemed to be one. He can hear pulse, gone fast and thready, and see the shine of fever in her eyes. If they rode until night, she's more than likely to drop from the saddle before they made camp.

“I never planned on going back to the Circle, you know.” 

The admission comes without prelude as Phaedra stares into her steaming teacup. It’s probably not the conversation Iswen was expecting to have this morning, but it’s been on the mage’s mind for a while now.

She knew she was nearly heretical for a Templar, particularly in these times of rebellion and impassioned stances. Even she could find it to see where there could be light and compassion when mages were attacking her without waiting for her to draw her sword; she tried, but all too often that was after people were dead, and what good could it do for her to forgive them for reacting out of fear?

“It is part of the ‘job description’,” she said with a deeply wry smile for the term. “But that doesn’t mean I have to like that it is. It has gotten worse,” she murmured, rotating the tankard in her hands as she glanced away into the fire. “And Maker damn the rebelling Templars,” she added with a flash of temper.

“You don’t agree with the rebel Templars?” It was an interesting little tidbit-- particularly to Llothira, an apostate mage. Oh, she hid her talent well enough-- most of the time it was too WEAK to produce a halfway decent spell anyway-- but being in the presence of Templars made her skin crawl. It had taken all her nerve to muster up the courage to join the Inquisition-- an army made up of former Templars.

Iswen seemed like the more decent sort. That wasn’t enough to prevent Llothira from wanting to see demons feast on her flesh, but the two of them could share a few civilized meals first.

“I’m not really scared to die. I’m more afraid that no one will miss me when i’m gone.”

“That’s not the first time I hear those words.” Elithrar raised his mace to protect himself from the bony fingers of his assailants. The strength he put in his parade made the skeleton lose his balance and the sun elf took advantage of this moment to strike a violent blow. The skeleton fell in dust at his feet. One down. 

“I’m more afraid than we will finish like them!” yelled the sun elf before facing a new skeleton which took the previous one place. Wherever he turned his look, he saw them. Pale skulls, with empty orbits which seemed to return his gaze. No need to count them, the woman and him were largely outnumbered.

They were surrounded. 

Elithrar, while dodging another attack remembered Aleghio, his superior’s words:

“You’re more than able to help the inhabitants of Pernuit. They sent us a request to investigate an abandoned mansion near their village. It should be simple. There’s no sign of a big invasion. Furthermore, you will probably find Lady Iswen, a doomguide. She should be on the road.”
