Summers Last Burn day nine, ten, and eleven: sweater mistakes at the lake!
Woo! Doing the past three days all in one(okay it’s coming a day late, so what), also in the form of a fanfic for a specific somebody who will remain nameless 😉

Running around your house, you frantically try to get your stuff together cause you and Blue were going to the lake! But unfortunately you woke up late, and he was coming to pick you up in ten minutes…
You throw on some shorts, a tank top and a sweater, cause why not? Sweaters are soft and comfy, but some can be surprisingly airy.
You fill your backpack with some snacks, you're mostly filled water bottle, some sunscreen, a first aid kit cause yes, emergency sewing kit cause again, yes, and finally your notebook and special pencils. Wether your drawing skills were good or not(that’s for you to decide dear reader) you wanted to draw stuff while you were there!
Just as you put your shoes on you hear a knock at the door.
You open it to find your friend Blue!
“Heya y/n! Are you ready to go?”
You say yes, and the two of you walk outside to your car. While walking you notice Blue’s motorcycle. While you would’ve preferred to ride on that, you had stuff to bring with you, so car it is.

You arrive at the lake. You and Blue get your separate things, and you walk over to a tree which was somewhat shady. Finally you could start drawing! The whole reason Blue was there was that he wanted to learn to walk on bamboo poles floating on the water… definitely an interesting skill to learn for sure. He’s gotten fairly good at it, you’ve come nearly every time he’s practiced, for drawing purposes of course.. mostly. In all honesty it was just fun to watch the poor guy get thrown into the lake time and again, yet still get up again, and also you might enjoy the one on one conversations you get to have with him there, but that doesn’t matter.
Before you know it an hour has passed and you’ve been baking in the sun. So much for that shade.. you’ve drawn a decent amount already. Mostly drawings of Blue balancing on the poles, but still something is better than nothing. You try to call Blue over but your voice was surprisingly weak, not weak enough that he didn’t hear you though.
“Yeah y/n, what’s up?”
“Uh, maybe you take a break for a bit? I brought snacks”
He smiled and eagerly came over.. at least he would’ve if he didn’t fall in the water from excitement.
He came over and sat next to you, bringing his backpack and taking out some things.
“I also decided to bring a snack- well uh, more of a lunch heheh. Here have one! Its not a taco, but burritos are close, right?”
You smile and take the burrito from him. Remember when it was mentioned about airy sweaters? Well this was definitely not an airy sweater in the slightest, and while you were drawing, the thing was baking you alive, and you had a bad feeling about what could happen next. It wouldn’t be that bad right?
It turned bad really fast.
You take one bite and soon find yourself slumping down the tree you were leaned against.
“Y/n are you okay? Y/n!!”
Blue takes immediate action, picks you up in a princess carry, and desperately tries to find some decent shade before you pass out from the apparent heatstroke you were having.
He leans you against another tree but in a much shadier place and calls papyrus to help, and after he’s done Blue runs away quickly to retrieve his backpack. Once he has it, he opens it up and gets out a small towel and a water bottle.
He pours a decent amount of water on the towel and gently presses it on your forehead, looking at you with worried eyes.
“Have you had any water recently? Also um… you’re wearing something under that sweater right?”
Blue asks you, a little discomfort on his face with a light blush. It’s understandable.
You, feeling a little better, attempt to answer Blue’s questions.
“Wearing a tank top, please get water”
And as Blue ran away to get your own bag, you realize that perhaps it was a good idea to take the sweater off, as it was still baking you alive.
And surprise surprise, as soon as you took the thing off you immediately start feeling better. Not completely mind you, but better then before.
Blue comes back with your bag and gets you the water bottle inside.
After a minute or two of drinking water, Blue asks you if you’re feeling better, to which you reply,
“Yeah, thank you for caring so much Blue”
“Of course! Y/n you mean so much to me, and I’m really glad that you’re okay now… I’m not sure what I’d do if something bad happened to you..”
“Hey, I’m okay now, you don’t need to worry cause I’m right here, aren’t I?”
He looks down for a moment before embracing you in a hug.
“I know this may not be the best time to ask but… I was wondering if you wanted to go on a da-“
He was interrupted by Papyrus(or stretch, idk), who just came via shortcut.
“Hey is y/n okay- did I interrupt something?”
Blue ended the hug and quickly stood up.
“Yes- no- um, y/n is alright, but brother what took you so long?”
“Sorry, sorry, let’s just say a certain dog ran away with the stuff, and it took me a while to get it back”
He says, nervously while scratching the back of his neck.

So the lake trip wasn’t a massive success, but later in the day Blue asks you to go on a date with him, because he was previously interrupted, and naturally you say yes.
Moral of the story: stay hydrated, and don’t go wearing sweaters outside in hot weather.

Darling, as I dance with you in the rain I can’t help but notice all the little things of the world.
How our laughs and giggles echo through the thicket, how the rain continues to pitter patter all around us, and how our umbrellas always seem to bump into each other.
Darling, such a day as this I shall cherish forevermore, for I know our time together isn’t very long. But when you leave, I will wait for you. I will wait as long as it takes until we can dance together in the rain once again, for I know you shall come back.

As we walked along the beach together, hand in hand, only the warmest thoughts could enter my mind. Darling, how I wish this moment could last forever.
The sun was setting, and the sand was warm, so we sat down, hands together and fingers entwined with each other. The breeze and ocean air took all our cares away, and as the sun displayed its final rays upon us, you gently placed your hands on my face and kiss me with ever soft lips.
Now, my head leaning on your shoulder, you run your fingers through my silky hair, a gentle breeze blowing it softly in the wind. How tender a moment we have shared together dear. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Toes in the sand, stars in the sky, we watch as it sparkles iridescent, and bright.
I look into your eyes to find sparkling, purple stars. How perfect they looked under the moonlight, and how wonderfully they danced with the reflection of the night sky.
I tilt my head ever so slightly, as I share one final kiss with you before this perfect dream comes to end.
Oh how much I love you dear. If only you truly knew the extent of that, then perhaps this dream… might be closer to reality.
Summers Last Burn prompt seven: Ice. Bucket. Challenge!!

Althea’s POV
Today was gonna be a cool day. Why? Cause both me and Navi were doing a thing for charity! It’s a thing where you get a bucket of ice water, dump it on yourself, and tell someone else to do it!
I think…
My mom did something like that a while back so I forget the details, but with my small following on social media, plus how sensitive I am for cold, it was bound to be a good show. Right?
“Yo Navi, are you sure you wanna do this? Your leg still isn’t completely healed yet..”
We were outside setting up the camera. She turned to me and said,
“I’m beyond sure! Besides, my leg feels fine, no need to worry”
After that whole fish incident I’ve been keeping a special eye on Navi. I know she’s tough as nails, but she’s still small and… can be vulnerable..
“Alright Thea it’s ready! You got the ice water?”
I looked at her, a smile spreading on my face as I remember, “hey, we’ve been through way worse”
“Yep! And I added sparkles too nyeheheh”
Navi looked at me… slightly disgusted.
We got in front of the camera as it started recording.
“Hey everyone, me and my pal Navi are doing a thing! For charity!
I dedicate this ice bucketing to St Judes hospital for children with cancer! I recently donated like.. a hundred dollars there, saved it up all year. And while you may not have much to give, I encourage it! Or like, talk about it with others. Ya know stuff that’ll help or whatever. Anyway, Navi are we ready?”
Navi looked at me and gave a somewhat hesitant yes.
I pick up the big gallon of icy water, and with arms shaking heavily, dump the flipping thing all over us.
The scream that we shrieked that day… the whole neighborhood might’ve heard us. We were both freezing from head to toe, some ice even stuck to my back. It was uncomfortable to say the least.
In unison Navi and I looked at the camera, faces contorted with an odd look of anger and said,
“FOR CHARITY!!!”
Then I said solo,
“I nominate my friend Charlotte to do this too!! Have a great day everyone!”

Now you might be wondering how successful our little stunt was? Well it wasn’t like “omg wow, its in the news!” Or anything like that, but it did fairly well, and even got a few others to do it too, so I’d say it was a success! Also after that me and Navi sunbathed for at least thirty minutes before going inside.
