I got almost $40 in tips at work and that should mean that I had a good night, right? You would think. But some angry dude apparently left his wallet in the lobby, called about it like 20 minutes later to have me find it, and then when he finally came to pick it up he claimed it was missing money and tried to get me to let him into the back to look at the cameras, while also insinuating that I took it. Had to explain to him that I don't even have the ability to access the recorded archives, only the manager does, and that he couldn't come into the restricted back area anyway. At his demand I had to call my manager, they argued over the phone, then he threatened to call the cops, then he just stalked around the lobby freaking out everyone else who came through until closing, which was over an hour. My anxiety was (and still is) going through the roof. Several of my regular customers, bless them, offered to stick around until closing to keep an eye on the situation when they saw how frazzled I was but I assured them it was ok.
