Oh cool! The Fall fits the creepy but not horror slot pretty well. Another one I thought of (this might just be my nostalgia talking But) is Superbrothers Sword and Sworcery, which while not truly retro, has beautiful pixel graphics, and tells a story which in itself is not particulary unique, but presented in a rather different way. And finally as a complete outlier there is the Kentucky Route Zero series, which is more an interactive play than a game really, but has a load of sad + thought! :D

What genres aside from roguelikes are your thing? I could narrow down other game ideas to recc if you don't already have enough. :D (I can't imagine I would find any roguelikes with non-frustratiing gameplay though. :P)

In answer to you games question, it really depends on what genres you like, but if you like puzzles and a phlisophical kinda story I would recommend The Fall by Over The Moon Games. :D

With that "answers about OFF" post you reblogged recently, I noticed the thing about Secretaries being "machine keepers" and all I could think about was the fact that according to the plans of the cyborg monkeys, all the zones were going to be converted into factories for robots. And those machines need security...:P
