Does anyone else find the concept of a vampire dwarf super hilarious? Like, it would have to get a stool just to get at someone’s neck.

Do spells with ferocious check for ferocious as they're cast or on resolution? For example, if I cast a spell with ferocious while controlling only a single creature with power 4 or greater, and my opponent in response destroys that creature, would I still get the ferocious trigger on resolution of that spell?
