Chatting Bullshit ♦ Stupip
“Fuck,” Piper muttered under her breath as she waited in line at Tacos Nitos, one of the many taco trucks that she knew Stuart liked to spend his time at in Clovers. After working a five hour shift at Clovers Cafe, she simply didn't have the patience to stand behind a woman who kept pronouncing quesadilla as “qehsahdillah”. As a headache was starting to form in her head, the line finally moved up, allowing Piper to become face to face with the man who stood in the truck.
“What would you like today?” He asked, resting his arms on his side of the opening. “Could I just get one taco, please?” Piper asked, looking up at him. As the man working the truck quickly took her order, Piper moved out of the way and stood off to the side. In her hand she held a plastic grocery band which contained a tray of brownies and a pint of ice cream, which Stuart had also asked her to pick up the day earlier. Unfortunately, Piper didn't own a car, which meant she had to carry everything everywhere.
As the cold of the night started to set in and the sky began to turn a darker shade of blue, Piper bounced from one foot to another, her impatience growing. Finally, the man called out her order and she quickly grabbed it, paid, and thanked him. It was a short walk from Tacos Nitos to Stuart's apartment, and for once that day, Piper felt relieved.
After eleven minutes of power walking, she had finally arrived to his building. Rushing up to the doorbell, Piper quickly scanned the selection of name's until she found the one that printed his name. “Stuart,” she called into the speaker, “Can you buzz me in? It's getting cold and I'm pretty sure the ice cream is melting -- Oh yeah, I got rocky road – but for fuck's sake, let me in already.”
