I'm going to sit here.
Come and remove me.
I dare you.
Why do people still treat meltdowns like tantrums? I couldnt find the video my bf said someone posted, but it was of my public meltdown. Why do people think they have the right to post a video of a meltdown? Why is it funny to them? I wish i never had meltdowns. I wish i was halfway normal. I blamed myself my whole childhood for problems that couldve been explained if someone had thought to listen instead of accusing me of being lazy, bratty, and immature. Meltdowns are scary. Im lucky i didnt reach the point where i wouldve hurt myself, because ive done that before. Meltdowns are NOT someones youtube break. You NEVER EVER post a video of a meltdown without permission. That day, i was experiencing the worst sensory overload i can remember having. My clothes felt too heavy. My tags were scratchy. The lights were too bright. Every sound was a knife in my brain. Every smell made me wanna vomit. But no one knows how to read autistic body language, and i was having trouble using my words. The shift in the expected routine was just the cherry on top. I didnt mean to go postal on my managers. Autistic meltdowns arent tantrums, and its time that was made very clear.
Stories from work 8
I closed everyday during Black Friday weekend, here’s a list of my adventures!
Bitch ass coworkers bragging about not having to close
A customer knocked a shelf off the wall
A different customer on a different occasion knocked a different shelf off the wall
Having to train 2 people on the second busiest day of the year
People still shopping 20 minutes after the store closes
My manager asking to restock the store after closing instead of cleaning
Multiple people coming in with Walmart shopping carts (I do not work at Walmart)
A customer, after walking around the store by herself perfectly fine, pretended to be severely blind and called a cashier ableist when her purchase did not qualify for the coupon
A customer said we should close the store down ‘cause the line was long
My manager gave me a gift card for good performance but there’s no money on it
I only cried twice!!
I'm a cashier at a store in PA and got pulled into the manager's office the other day because a customer complained that I was clearly sick and coughing and needed to go home. I told said manager that I would likd to leave for the dr 2 hours prior. He screamed at me and basically told me that I should be able to control when and if I got sick and that I was obviously faking. I went to the Doc, I have Bronchitis. Brought in my work excuse stating this, manager still insists that I am lying.
I hate that whole mentality managers have of like “you should call in a few days before if you’re sick!” Like excuse me princess, I’m not gonna how I’m feeling that day until the day comes. And of course you MUST be lying, why would anyone trust a DOCTORS note????????????????

Me: *laughs in former food service worker*
