How To Remember Things Long Term Using Mind Palace Technique
If you're a Sherlock fan, you already know about this, but if not, let me introduce you to something that will probably change your life
Mind Palace as termed in BBC's series Sherlock is a memory technique called 'Method Of Loci'
It's very easy to get hang of, but you need to invest some time at the beginning
Here are the steps that I used to create a mind palace to remember all the things I'm required to in med school:
1) Imagine a small place/room
To begin, you need a small space until you get the hang of it. You can start with your own room or house or any place you know like the back of your hand
Example: your fridge, to begin with
2) Think of all the things that are placed in the room and commit them to your memory
Let me continue with the example: think of where everything is kept in your fridge.
Think of where the eggs are kept, the milk, the vegetables, etc.
3) Make a little list of something that you need to remember
People on YouTube would suggest to remember something like your grocery list (which will do) or the numbers of pi (which, while impressive, is unnecessary, I think)
I would suggest to not waste energy on something that doesn't apply to your life/studies.
Example: elements of the periodic table
4) Associate the list with the items in your mind palace
It doesn't always have to make perfect sense, you just need to relate to it while remembering later
Example: in my fridge, the eggs are kept separately at the top, just like Hydrogen in the periodic table
Next is Lithium, second row where we keep milk and so on.
5) For the first time, write down what you're associating everything with, a diagram on a plain paper works the best
So like, draw your fridge, make shapes that resemble the things in there and label them with the things that you are associating it with currently
6) Practice by Exploring Your Mind Palace
Like I said, it will need some time when you're doing it for the first time, but then, a practice for 15 minutes a day by venturing into your mind palace is enough
7) Make Your Mind Palace Bigger!
After you get the hang of it, just start renovating your mind palace bit by bit!
You don't need to keep just one mind palace, you can have as many as you want! Create one for remembering things about your family, another for school, another for birthdays of your friends, the list is endless

Are you, like me, an Indian student who yearns to use the aesthetic stationary we see on studyblr and studygram that our parents will never buy for us?
Look no further, here are some cheaper (more like half-the-price) alternatives that are available in Amazon India:
Note- these are affliate links. If you buy from these links, you'll help me save some money for a laptop at NO EXTRA COST to you! Thank you so much Xx
• Loose ruled pre-punched sheets
• Fineliner pens (25 colours at the same cost of 8 Stabilio pens!)
• Pretty Pastel Sticky Notes (there are 4 colour themes you can choose from!)
• Cute little Desk Organizer
• Brush Pens for your Calligraphy needs
• Another Desk Organizer if you have loads of stuff like I do and/or as messy as I am
• This Stationary Set that has a hole puncher, a stapler, stapler remover, tape dispenser and some staples
• Single Lined Spiral 300 Pages notebook for your bullet journal
• Sticky Notes with Book Index Tabs
• Cool Coloured Gel Pens
• These Erasers that I wish I had in school
{These are the ones I personally use and have had no issues with them ever! All of them are under 500rs each - as opposed to the international stationary brands that cost like over thousands rupees}
Do you have any cute stationary that you love Or wish you could get in India? Let me know in the comments below! Feel free to DM me if you have any doubts :)

Today's Quote: A year on from now, you might regret that you didn't start today. Don't be scared, take that small step ahead
-----
Day 1 - Read about something that you find interesting
My mom found an old encyclopedia of mine about space a few days back and gave it to me and I legit spent 2 hours reading it all over again when I used to have it memorized at one point of my life
I would've put it off if it hadn't been for this challenge lol and I'm glad to say that those 2 hours were well spent
I have always loved to study any subject that's not currently a part of my curriculum and I'm enjoying writing notes for others! If you want, I will write your notes for you if you're too overwhelmed or simply don't have time for it - Check It Out Here!
This post also features the 2nd ever painting I made using acrylics! Hope you're having a good day Xx

Day 2 - Eat something healthy
I ordered half a dozen of apples to make chocolate apple milkshake for today and ate some boiled sprouts for dinner. Eating light makes me feel less bloated and gassy and I kinda feel like my GIT is thanking me today lol
Also, I typed out some Python notes for someone today and I felt refreshed. If I didn't have a personal vendetta with math, I would've definitely went for Computer Science or something in IT (click the Fiverr link below to know more)
Do you wish like you would've gotten into some other field if you could change anything?
