How to get good grades
hi its yo girl taeyeon and im back with some tips and tricks for recieving good grades! yes, im not the best at studying but these tips and tricks helped me to get where i am today! Pls note that these mgith not work for u!
use ur school textbook!
Before this tip i always used workbooks for my grade. Yes, they do help me but then i looked at all the tests. i always usually got one or two wrong. All test questions are variations of textbooks and so using textbooks to review or studying before hand gave me a super boost!
have fun when u have the time!
Many people think that students who have good grades only spend their life studying. Yes, studying is always nice but having some fun when ur having too much stress can be sometimes helpful. However, dont just start playing with ur phone every 10 minutes or smthing. If u keep studying forcefully u can kill the fun of studying!
Preview the material before hand and review afterwards.
This tip made a change in my grades. If u preview that material beforehand, u can understand what the teacher is saying better and u might even need to ask something about the material u didn't understand. After the class take time to review the work. This will save u from cramming in the future. It will stay in ur head and later on it will make a difference, trust me. Leave idk maybe 30 minutes before bed to review the work! You can preview the work by reading the class textbook or worksheets and review by taking notes in class or after and memorize them!
Memo
Put vocab words or a line of condensed notes that don't want to be memorized on a sticky note and place it on places that u walk by or see frequently (ex. kitchen fridge, somewhere in ur bedroom, etc.) If u see it frequently enough u might have new words or material stuck in ur head!
Leave some time for subjects that need to be memorized
Subjects such as science or history take longer to study than math becuase of all the material that need to be memorized. If u have finals coming up, memorize the material maybe 2 weeks prior or more (it depends on how much material u have to memorize). This can prevent cramming which is something u want to stay clear from.
Answer questions over and over
If u have textbook or workbook questions and u got them wrong, don't just say "it's okay, i'll remember how to do it on the real test" No no no, ur just being lazy, redo the question several times until u get it. FOR WORKBOOKS U BUY URSELF, USE OTHER PAPER SUCH AS A GRAPH NOTEBOOK TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS AND THEN REANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS (EVEN THE ONES U GOT RIGHT) AFTER U FINISHED ASNWERING ALL THE QUESTIONS IN THE WORKBOOK. Idk how much i can emphasize this but this is a total life saver.
Don't throw away worksheets handed out by the teacher
Even after the unit is done don't throw out the worksheet. Who knows if she wants to have a sesparate test for all the units u learned about? File them into a separate binder at home.
Study during the breaks.
You have lots of hours to study during breaks which can help later. if ur having an exam gith after ur break, study those subjects and in summer break, rent a textbook that u will use during the next year and write notes for them!
Do ur homeowork
I know sometimes u might become lazy but doing ur homeowrk has so many benefits! Its basically reviewing what u learned that day!
do what the teacher tells u to do
If she or he asks u to underline or highlight something, pls do it! It's proabably smthing important or smthing that will be a wuestion in following tests.
Plan out ur days beforehand
Using a planner is probably best. If ur busy, use a preprinted planner that fits ur daily activity and if u have a little bit of time in ur hands use a bullet journal and show it to the world in the studyblr community! everyone wants to see ur beautiful art! Anyways, this is helpful for breaks. In the summer i like using calendars and write what im going to study that day. (ex. on january 2, i might write study math and science)
Determine what kind fo learner u are
U might be a visual learer but u might be studying orally. That might be the reason u are not showing ur full potential in tests. There are lots of websites u can use to determine what learner u are!
Set goals and give urself rewards
What do u want to accomplish this year or for this subject? Settin goals will help u plan out ur day. Giving urself rewards can easily help urself become motivated. I saw @studyquill 's youtube video on smthing (i forgot srry) but she showed a table with a goal and if u reach that goal, what reward u would give urself. I think this is a great idea and i found motivation to study!
Find some good friends
Make sure ur friends are encouraging. They might help u study and u can help them study. Hang out with people that make ur life a better one.
I think that that's all for now and if u have some tips and tricks u want to share, u should totally reblog this!
