Two Postgraduate PhD Studentships in Art & Design  at the University of Derby
Deadline:Â 9 May 2018
The School of Art in the College of Arts, Humanities and Education invites applications for two fully funded three-year Postgraduate PhD Studentships in Art & Design. The studentship is in the form of a Postgraduate Teaching Assistantship (PGTA), and this means that, alongside your research, there is an expectation to undertake a limited amount of teaching whilst in pursuit of your doctorate. The inclusion of teaching in the PGTA allows you to develop and acquire wider academic skills whilst making an individual contribution to School, College and University communities.
Candidates may propose a study that is practice-led or 100% written within the scope of art and design, in a precise subject suitable for doctoral research. We welcome application for one of the studentships within the general remit of art and design, and candidates should propose a specific doctoral research study from disciplines within the subject area. The other studentship welcomes proposals specific to a research study that addresses the documentation of ephemeral art, such as live art and transient practices, and should involve archival work at the Live Art Development Agency (amongst others).
