Got a 1.5mile run in this morning.
It was a struggle run to say the least.
Time to get back to a routine. Back to eating better again.
Ok idk if it was the pollen, humidity, or heat but this run felt fucking TERRIBLE! I was going for 5 and could barely get to three. Damn this was so rough. I was super disappointed after this run tbh! My legs were absolutely killing and I felt like complete shit. Damn... summer running got hands tho !!!
3 mile run this morning which was a complete struggle the whole way. Just not a good run overall.
Then I got to go to my favorite burrito place for lunch.
Yesterday was the official start of my half marathon training! I will be lifting twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, so Sam wrote me up a lovely little program to get me through this training. He rocks.
This morning's run epitomized struggle. I got about four hours of sleep last night, so I knew I'd be dragging today. I also know on this training program I'm supposed to make my Tuesday and Thursday runs "easy" and slow my pace down. So in an attempt to do that, I accidentally slowed WAY down. Well, also, my body was like NOPE I'M TIRED I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS. So I picked up the pace a bit by the end and overall it's fine, it was just slow.
Tomorrow is my first tempo run, and I'm only slightly sure I know what that means. So I guess I'll figure it out.
I'm really grateful for the Forest Lake (Struggle) Runners. I thought I would be going solo this morning, so I was really happy when Nick and Aaron showed up. Even though we didn't run together, just knowing they were there pushed me to get through my run.
Oh, and isn't that sweaty selfie crisp and clear?? The new phone is magical and I love it.
Now to make it through this day. I'll be posting here in a minute about the paleo eating. Stay tuned!

Today was the struggliest struggle run of them all.
My parents are in town, and since it's A BILLION DEGREES in my house (shout out to the worst leasing company EVER!) there was no way I could have them stay there. SO they are staying at a hotel and I stayed with them last night. Which means I slept GREAT because hotel beds are amazing and also there was air conditioning. But that also meant I slept through and/or turned off all of my alarms, so I got out of bed at 6:15 instead of 5:30. Buhhhh. So I rushed around and got ready and made it to the river walk about 6:45, which is actually kind of impressive. I'm pretty grateful no other struggle runners showed up this morning, 1. because I was so late and 2. because it wasn't pretty.
Aside from getting started late, I couldn't get runkeeper to start. I kept closing it out and restarting it until it finally came on. Then my headphones started cutting in and out. THEN I GOT STUNG IN THE FACE BY SOME MYSTERY BUG.
Seriously. The struggle was REAL this morning. THEN, when I had maybe a half mile to go, runkeeper just quit. It froze and was like HAHA NOPE I'M DONE. So I know I ran for 35 minutes, because I happened to glance at the time when I started running, but I have no idea how far I actually made it. I'm pretty sure I went past 5k, but who the heck knows.
Now my phone is crashing every time I try to open an app, my headphones are dead and I'm playing wait and see with the sting on my face hoping I'm not allergic to whatever got me.
THE STRUGGLE Y'ALL. IT IS REAL.
