I really cannot believe it is February already. I feel like I am scrambling from one week to the next with a trail of unfinished jobs wafting out behind me like a jet stream.
I have not been doing as much running this year. Instead I have been doing more strength workouts and trying to cross train more. We have been having some fantastic summer weather here in the South Island, the North is another story. I have been really enjoying the lovely weather from the moment I get out of the office each day. I have been walking towards home after work and Hubby picks me up along the way. My goal is to get to 5kms before he catches up with me. I managed it once this week but I am finding there is lots to look at as I walk like the Cicadas on the lamp posts in the red zone. Usually they stop making noise when you walk past them in the gardens, but in the red zone they just keep right on making their noise. I guess they just aren't used to people walking by in there.
So no running so far this week but I have been back on the bike for the Aotearoa bike challenge. Tonight I rode to the beach and along the beach front track as the sea mist rolled in over the sand dunes. Such a refreshing way to finish off a noisy day in the office. We have a long weekend so after work I walked to Spotlight and got some batting, it was on sale! I also seem to be chewing through the blue cotton on my big blue star hexie quilt so I stocked up.
Tomorrow is going to be 31ºC and I am working from home thank goodness. The office air con was blowing arctic air all day today because it was beautiful outside. I lunched under a shady tree by the river. The tourists are back in record numbers so there is plenty to watch as you lunch.
Time for me to do some hexie stitching and wind down for the day. Tomorrow I am going to try and get up early and run before work. We will see how that goes.
