fic rec! 57K Danny x Wes
Summary: Danny had one goal for the day… now if only he could remember what it was, how he got here, and why a bunch of military looking goons kept coming after him, then he’d be peachy.
Wes was torn between having the best and worst day of his life. On one hand, he was inside his favorite video game and experiencing the wonders of each stage firsthand! On the other, Omochao was real.
Comments: I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure why I started this fic. I'm not a Wes fan, nor a Sonic fan and this fic is essentially them getting sucked into a Sonic game. It was probably the angst tag.
But y'all...I loved this fic. It made me really like Wes as a character, 100% made me see Wes and Danny as a plausible couple. I love the dialogue - from the snark to the difficult conversations. How complicated their relationship got, tied up with revealing alter egos and sexualities. How they both fall for each other in different ways.
How I took Danny's side on the training bot, up until nearly the very end. Damn.
100% worth the read.

Ohhh Very difficult to choose!!! Probably “A child’s laugh caught him off guard.” Or similar outside POV stuff with Danny.
5: What part was hardest to write?
The unwriten third chapter I keep meaning to add >>
lol but for real it’s probably the language barrier? It’s uniquely difficult to write characters that struggle to understand each other.
11: What do you like best about this fic?
How well the two canons combine!! So much about Sung Jinwoo actually fits how (at least in most fanon) Danny Phantom Ghosts work and I thought that was really fun!!!
