#strange stuff

At my big age of 22 no one showed up to my birthday party except my friend who was staying over with me, and I was fine with it because I had that best friend and we had our night and ate our cake and dressed up together anyways. Genuinely all the love and appreciation to that best friend. I was fine with it until I told my mom and she said “I’m sad for you” before trying to make me feel better even though I already said I was fine. But ig hearing that from her it really hit me how sad the situation was..but it also hit me how caring my mom was to express that to me. I don’t blame any one guest for not being able to make it but I’m angry no one came, but I’m so happy my best friend made it fun anyways, and I’m feeling loved by my mama all at once. Adulthood is complex and navigating this high school ass situation as an adult is confusing, but I guess I’m mostly just greatful for the two people who made it not the most tragic thing ever. Life is weird.
