It's time for #VinylAndBeerSunday! I have been on the road the past few weeks and unable to keep a regular schedule. But I was able to get in a Vinyl listening session tonight. I am spinning an original copy of the 1969 release from English Soul artist JOE COCKER. I remember my parents spinning this album in the early 70s - and it has been a favorite of mine. For some, COCKER is an acquired taste. But for me - his mix of pop, rock, folk, and soul connected with me from the first listen. The highlights of this classic album is his version of LEONARD COHEN'S "BIRD ON WIRE", GEORGE HARRISON'S "SOMETHING", and JOHN SEBASTIAN'S "DARLING BE HOME SOON". They simply don't make albums like this anymore. I was glad when my brother said that he still had it - and gave it to me. It's awesome. I have paired these great tunes with an outstanding collaboration from BEECHWOOD, STONE, and HERETIC. Their STILL UNAPOLOGETIC IPA is huge with spicy flavors, lots of hops, and a bitter smoothness in the aftertaste. I was hesitant in buying this tonight due to previous uneven experiences with collorabations. But I should have doubted the good folks at STONE. It is a delicious IPA that any serious fan should seek out and buy four or 5 bottles. Get this one! What are you listening to tonight? What are you drinking?
