Honestly, it was fairly obvious that Gladion would defeat James, but my biggest gripe with their battle was the fact that Mareanie had Black Hole Eclipse up for about a minute or more and it didn't do a thing to Lycanroc. If James lost to Gladion fairly is fine, but to make a Z-Move do nothing for a minute, allowing Gladion to cancel both moves out and secure his win was cheap.
