Green in McCall’s stitching patterns
One of the patterns that I’ve currently been designing, part of a tattoo inspired set of cross stitch patterns I’ve been designing recently
Märkbok / Augusta Abrahamsson Linköpings Lithografiska Aktiebolag, 1918
Last thursday a quite old lady came into the museum to sought me out in order to just give me this book. She said to me, that she saw me sewing and stitching some time ago and knew from others, that I learned how to sew and really like it. Then she handed me this old book with the words “I guess you could have use of it”. I just looked at this book and was already with one glimpse totally in awe of its beauty, as it is so old as far as I could see in this very second. Some minutes later I saw that it is almost 100 years old. Sadly, this woman left quickly after and I was just so busy with teaching school kids in this moment, that I only could thank her around a dozen times for this precious present. I was so delighted and am still so happy for it. But, how even knew this woman I sparsly saw before, that I am so fond of old things, especially also old books? She just saw me sewing some rare times, as she is part of a crochet group for elderly women. She didn’t knew that I’m so interested in those old stitching patterns, even not that I can in a way very much relate to the fact that it’s swedish. If I might see her again, I will just thank her for some more information about it and also again thank her truly from my heart for this lovely gift.
Horse
(I really like this fancy font, it's so cool)
This was my first work.
Unfortunately, I can't provide the pattern as it was on the paper and I kinda ruined it.
