I’m finally on tumblr! Oh boy… Anyway, first post! This is last year’s birthday card to my mum, featuring two of our lovely cat friends (The tiger white is Tumble, the ginger cat is Biscuits). The lil character is Balthazar, a little OC of mine you’ll definitely see more of ❤️

I wrote this as a reminder to myself, but I'm sharing it in case someone else needs to be reminded too.
"You might think that because you’ve had COVID-19 and lived through it that repeat infections will impact you similarly, but “reinfections aren't harmless. As cases continue to rise and more variants arrive on the scene, infectious-disease experts are warning that repeat infections could have cumulative, lasting effects.”
...If you want to maintain your current level of health and avoid potential damage to your body & organs (up to and including your brain & your heart) and/or want to live as long as possible, taking precautions to prevent COVID-19 infections is crucial."

My mom decided just last week to lessen her covid precautions and "live life" by attending a party with her friend. She's been tired all week, and today had to call in to work because she's sick. Let this be your gentle reminder that those of us who are chronically ill & disabled & trying to avoid further sickness can't just drop our precautions to have fun without potential consequences. It seems like no one else is going to protect you, so you still gotta protect yourself! Also, none of the people who were at that party will be there to care for my mother while she's sick. She will go through whatever she caught all alone as I live many states away. Please learn from her experience and remember to protect yourself. People might think I'm rigid because I'm still isolating & masking near other people, but I'm still alive and currently not sick with anything beyond my chronic conditions which is what matters to me.
If you're interested in building community and acting in solidarity, this week's post is a short piece about an easy action you can take today.
This post explains a small yet important action you can take today to care for your community and our collective future.
