hey, can you make a brief summary of what you've seen so far in the new episode? I'm very curious about the dragons.
My disclaimers: I didnāt translate the blue boxes and even though I only played the ep a few hours ago, I already forgot whatās happening. Take this summary with many grains of salt:
Thereās 2 tasks in the beginning of the episode: creating a potion that helps bring to light buriedĀ memories (note: not erasedĀ memories) and finding a way pass the chasm and into the temple. Taenmil (Ezās familiar) searches the air for a way, Colaia and Alajea search for an underwater route, and Keroās seryphon is sent back to HQ to gather ingredients for the potion.Ā
You find out thereās some kind of barrier that wasnāt there before - essentially, thereās no other way in but the front door. After the ingredients are gathered for the potion, I thinkĀ you search your memories / have this dreamlike state where you encounter Fafnir for the first time. As lord of the dragons, he has you go through 3 tests where you revisit memories so the dragons can assess your (ie Gardienneās) state of heart. All 3 are moments that were difficult for Gardienne, and she cracks under the last one: choosing between the life of Maitre Kappa or Patriarche Ethel.Ā
Since she didnāt complete the final test, you and the team go about trying to get into the temple to finally learn about Gardienneās origins. After finally finding your way in, Fafnir presents to you theĀ ā3rd testā again and you pass (you would choose to die if it meant both Maitre Kappa and Patriarche Ethel could live).Ā
Only you and Valkyon, whoās been having terrible headaches this entire time, are brought into the room of the dragons for being the Oracleās elected and having a pure heart. You find out Valkyon is a dragon, which he knew and has been keeping a secret from everyone. Side note: the dragons had been looking for Valkyon and Lance but since theyāve kept their heritage a secretā¦Ā
Fafnir shares the Oracle told them Eldarya was in danger due to the presence of a daemon. They entrust the mission of exposing the daemon to Gardienne and lend her their powers (the white flames from last episode). She needs the dragonsā power because her powers of being an aengel/daemon havenāt awoken yet. Essentially, the aengels and daemons are one in the same; what differentiates them is their heart. Since Gardienne has been deemed pure-hearted, she can be considered an aengel. But daemons whose hearts are corrupted - their wings are tinged black.Ā
Eventually, you rejoin the group, who were not allowed to join in the Dragon room due to not meeting the criteria. Valkyon lies about seeing the dragons and tells the others he was with them the whole time; Gardienne plays along. She keeps the secret of her own heritage from the Garde and only shares that sheās been tasked by the dragons with unmasking the daemon. Everyoneās kinda disappointed they worked so hard to just hear what they already know.Ā
You and Valkyon have a heart-to-heart. Heās relieved some to finally have someone else know of his species, but heās sorry to share the burden with you. You two agree to keep each othersā identities a secret from everyone else while trying to find out who the daemon is. You also have the option of sharing Miikoās suspicions with Valkyon, which I did. You tell him because he was allowed to be in the presence of the dragons, he couldnāt possibly be the culprit. You ask him if you can share his identity with Miiko, to which he answers heās not sure yet.
Youāre called back to HQ the next day, but you canāt share with Miiko at first because youāre still surrounded by people. You sneak out at night and meet with Miiko at the cherry tree. You have the option of telling her about your true heritage, about Valkyonās, both, or nothing (I personally disclosed Gardienneās true nature). Meanwhile, Leif and Lance are having a loverās quarrel, and the latter loses it. He restrains Leiftan and heads to the crystal, which he plans to destroy. You arrive with Miiko, but looks like Lance has the upper hand. Just as heās about to break the crystal for good, the episode ends.Ā
