Sunset, Agadir.
Souk El Had 🍆🥩🧿🇲🇦
This is the largest urban market in Africa, covering 13 hectares.
3000 shops.
Arrive before the crowd. Food stalls, fake clothes, carpets, furniture, trinkets, meat and vegetables. Separate hall only for the fish grill shops. The grills have a good cat control - I haven't seen there any. Proper grade amlou available, between 130-160 dirhams for small jars. Carrefour price around 170 so that is good. The "amlou" price can range from 35, which is a full peanut based fake. Go for the almond only - let the seller grind and mix it with honey and argan oil right before your eyes.
I buy argan oil only at Carre/Marjane. There's no fake batch there. Women's cooperatives and markets like this overprice the stuff 2-3 times the Marjane value, and/or sell fakes.
