I expanded some on Vox and Alastor's alone time at the hotel, because I always felt that section could do with being a little longer.
Narrowed eyes swept over the Radio Demon’s face. He waited for the mocking jibe that he was sure would come, but instead, Alastor just smiled. “So, how was the rest of your week?” he asked casually. Vox blinked several times, shaking his head. Since he’d arrived at the hotel, Alastor had been acting strangely, and now Vox was starting to feel like he had been plunged into a different universe. Why the hell was Alastor making small talk with him?! “It was… really shitty,” he answered honestly. “Because of you, all of Hell thinks I’m lying about my relationship.” “Sweetheart, they would have thought you were lying, regardless.” “Maybe,” he admitted reluctantly. “But they wouldn’t have been convinced of it. You made everything worse! As usual.” He gestured emphatically with his free hand as he spoke before it dropped to rest on Alastor’s calves. “Not even Val and Vel believe me,” he sighed. “Oh, dear,” Alastor hummed. “That does sound difficult. Where do they think you are right now?” Vox grimaced, looking away. “Who knows?” He was absolutely not telling Alastor that his business partners thought he was chasing after him. The asshole already had enough ammunition against him.

We've all talked about how Alastor's grudge against Lucifer stems from him being the walking embodiment of every racist white man who ever thought himself superior, but given how Alastor often preferred to deal with those men, I think we should also consider how Lucifer is uniquely infuriating for being someone it is literally, borderline physically impossible for Alastor to hurt/kill.
... Anyway, I think the whole 'living battery' thing should've been an idea Alastor slipped into Vox's head, because even knowing it would be temporary and leave no lasting damage, he was jumping at an opportunity to make Lucifer undergo some light torture. After freeing him from Rosie this is literally the best thing Vox has ever inadvertently done for him and Alastor barely said anything disparaging the entire time the trap was being set up. It was like springloading one obnoxious entitled white asshole to shoot down another, only to watch them both suffer in the end. Truly a highlight of Al's captivity.
