I don't think Will asking "is Hannibal in love with me" was a way of getting confirmation because he was scared of Hannibal deceiving him. Firstly, I don't think Will's scared of Hannibal in any capacity or form, and second, he would be capable enough to face Hannibal in any scheme he'd possibly plan. Will isn't stupid or blind in the way others have been blinded by both or either of them.

I think he needed the confirmation because knowing he is loved thoroughly for who he truly is, will never allow him to become a better man, and to acknowledge Hannibal's feelings is to acknowledge his own as well, which speaks volumes about the kind of man he is. And he has been trying to pretend he's anything but that man for a long while.

I love prison era Hannibal so much, he's just treating himself and freaking people out, being the little shit he is, literally a black kitty. Will Graham's black kitty of course.

On a more serious note, I was thinking it really made sense that Will eventually chose Hannibal at this point of their story.

Putting all his personal development aside (which of course does count, the entire plot is about this, after all) to focus on the part about his love for Hannibal (which again, is very tied to his marrow, anyway, but you know what I mean), Will always had this feeling at least, if not consciously knowing that Hannibal loved him. It becomes clear to him that Hannibal is in love with him, unquestionable at this point. He doesn't have much left in him to deny the truth laid bare and plain in front of him.

When they meet again after three years, Hannibal is chained and caged indeed, but he's almost stripped of his person suit, and voluntarily so, again, almost.

It gives Will the opportunity to see him and his love for him the clearest from a safe distance, and eventually decide to freely love this Hannibal back. It was healing for them both, if you ask me.

I might be mistaken but I don't think saying "Will loves and hates Hannibal" is...accurate? Am I making sense? I mean I think he probably hated what Hannibal reflected back at him way more than he could ever hate Hannibal as a person, despite knowing what and who he is. And he probably hated that he couldn't hate Hannibal properly?

I understand the appeal of the characters who have love and hate entwined for the other, but being willing to lay beside someone for eternity or the conscious choice of living with them forever requires unconditional love and understanding, I don't think any form of hate could have a place in it.

Not hannibal related, linkin park has gotten nominated for the grammy after AGES again and god, I am SO EMOTIONAL tonight.

I've been a fan since 2011. Got through the worst with them. Grew up with them (even from earlier than 2011). Grieved with them and got back up with them. This will be Emily's first grammy nomination. God, how much I love this woman.

This Will be Mike's first after everything happened, and god knows he deserves it. He deserves it all.

I've had celeb crushes in every single band I've been interested in, but with Linkin Park it was always like, "oh. Family. That's family."

They came back at my lowest and then Emily came along and somehow washed away all my self-hatred and shame that I had fought SO HARD to push back against for years.

Mike's post traumatic came along when I was drowning in my own grief and it was like "here, here's a hand". And before that, it was chester, when I was an invisible kid among others.

I don't even know why I'm rambling atm, moral of the story I love linkin park and I am so happy they've got two nominations in a silly thing like the grammy. They have been making chester truly proud for a year.

Someone was speaking of how quick Hannibal is at reacting to his surroundings and events but Will's there just...processing, and I was thinking if we see Will "processing" things it's almost always whenever his feelings were involved, either toward himself or his love for Hannibal (which...honestly, I think the two are inherently tied together).

When he's just acting on his instincts, that man's damn swift and way more unpredictable than Hannibal which makes twice as scary.

If you think of it as a chess match, you might have a few moments to think about which pieces you want to move when playing with Hannibal (though you're bound to lose anyway), but with Will you might just find yourself having all your own pieces swallowed after a while.

I love looking deeper into a character's past, their traumas and what made them the way they are now, but I also love the idea of Will not having a traumatic background as Hannibal's. Will being born the way he is, nothing to explain why. He's just like that because he began that way. There is a brand of surrender and acceptance in it I admire a lot.

Especially when the character is loved for what they are. It's simply not "I love you because I can look past your turbulent beginning." It's "I love you for who you are because I can't help loving you. You may not fit into this world but you fit inside me."

Home, as in not only a physical space but a state of innocence perhaps. As a form of your own existence that is so deeply altered you can never go back to, as in the lingering hallucination of a memory you are half certain it ever existed but it has formed the human you are now. Home, as in that faraway concept that you still hold close to your heart, for it is still called 'home', but it is more of a mirage than an oasis. As a place you can never go back to, not because it doesn't exist, but because you will be an alien inside if you ever do. An intruder to a memory that knows a version of you that doesn't exist anymore. You can't go back because there will never be a version of you that knows the way back home anymore, not truly.
