Summary:

Have a snippet of the starquill AU I started in which everyone is fighting over earth and Tony gets kidnapped as a ‘look we secured the planet’ gift for Peter, Emperor of the Spartax Empire.

Tony tries to shake them off not that it works very well. The species of alien that’s holding him is naturally stronger than humans even though one of them looks human himself. He bleeds blue though, so clearly he’s not from earth. “Quill,” the more human of the two aliens says, catching the attention of the man sitting in what looks like an ice throne in front of him. He doesn’t look like he’s impressed to be interrupted doing… Tony has no idea because it lookslike there’s a really old Game Boy in his hands but that can’t possibly be right.

The guy, Quill Tony supposes, frowns when he sees Tony there held by two aliens. “What’s with the Terran?” he asks and…

“Is that an Americanaccent?” Tony asks, baffled that this alien could sound even remotelyAmerican. The rest have weird accents if they bother using what they’ve labeled as universal translators at all. Tony wants to know how those translators know he speaks English or if they populate the most popular planetary language. And if it does thathow come Mandarin didn’t come out? It’s the most popular language on earth so it stands to reason that if those things auto populated the most spoken language on a planet the aliens would be speaking Mandarin, not English. 

Unless they auto populate the most popular language in a regionthen he has even more questions. Like who the hell made those things so accurate that aliens seem to get the slang of a region right? That’d suggest alien activity on earthlongbefore those blue assholes showed up and ruined everything.

Then when the rest came and started fighting them, Kree if Tony got the information from the fallen ships correct, they figured maybethey weren’t in as deep shit as they thought. But as soon as the Kree backed off the damn aliens turned against them and they’ve got better tech. Only Wakanda seems to have mostly avoided being utterly razed and even then parts of the country still fell.

“Yeah, its an American accent. Kraglin, put that back where you found it,” Quill says, gesturing to Tony. “What the hell am I supposed to do with a Terran?”

Tony frowns because this isn’t really what he expected. He figured he was some kind of prisoner of war or something, or an alien concubine and he was reallyhoping that wasn’t the case. He’s seen what the universe has to offer and he’s fine with his species, thanks. But being immediately returned to his planet? Definitely not what he thought would happen here.

“Peter, he’s proof we’ve got control of Terra,” Kraglin, the one who looks more human than not, tells him. He looks almost more confused than Tony is feeling and the guy on Tony’s other side is also dumbfounded.

For a second Quill- Peter?- looks happy about that but it fades fast. “Well that’s good but why the hell would you bring me a Terran? You could have just radioed that, you didn’t need to kidnap the poor guy,” Quill says.

Kraglin and the other alien exchange a confused look. “I know I taught you customs better than thatPeter,” Kraglin says.

Peter Quill? That’s what Tony guesses his name must be, unless its Quill Peter but that sounds ridiculous. Why’s the name Peter Quill sound familiar though? Tony dismisses it because he’s got bigger issues than the name of a random alien, namely getting the hell out of wherever he is.

“Kraglin I told you guys I didn’t want a Terran, stop kidnapping people. Didn’t think I had to write that one down for you,” Peter mumbles and Tony squints.
