Hello! Currently watching lotr and wondering, could elves have taken the ring to the undying lands and just hidden it there so sauron couldn't get a hold of it? Could this have cut him off from his power? Would it have endangered the undying lands? Could the ring, being fairly evil, have even been taken there? Not sure if this is a stupid idea or not but I figured I would ask you as you are the most knowledgable about lotr person I know :)

exactly why they didn’t want it and what would have happened is unclear. my impression has always been that it would theoretically be safe from Sauron across the sea, but the guys across the sea just don’t want to be involved with it. fully open to being corrected on this by ppl who know more about the Lore tho!

the ridiculous thing is, i don’t even believe in hell anymore
to get a message like this, oh, i don’t know, eight years ago? that would have messed me up. i’m not sure i’d have believed them, but i’d have paused for thought, and it would have haunted me, worrying at the back of my mind as i tried desperately to squash myself into a box, keeping all my heresies hidden and suppressed (even the soft ones. even the kindest blasphemies)

Was scrolling the hamlet tag and saw you get an ask about the new movie. As you said you were photosensitive in your reply, I wanted to let you kmow there was a warning at the start of the movie for flashing lights and that warning was very justified. There were several scenes with flashing/strobe lighting. Idk exactly what your symptoms are and how they manifest so this warning may or may not be useful, but I thought it would be right to let you know!
that is helpful thank you. definitely not a cinema one for me then! maybe I will be able to watch it at some later stage on a small screen in a well lit room, especially if i continue to get my photosensitivity slightly more under control. not how it's intended to be viewed I'm sure but then they shouldn't have put strobes in it should they

song of the year
according to spotify my most listened to song of the year was technically thelma + lousie by bastille once again, but that feels like it was kind of a haul over from last year so idk. i'd probably put real life or hope for the future both by bastille again as my personal song of the year, cause this year was definetly dominated by that band for me and at least they actually came out this year lol
5. tv show of the year
my mind has suddenly forgotten everything its ever watched lol i know hdm is coming out now, but it feels too late to call it my tv show of the year. probably riverdale lol. i watched that for the first time this year and i was just talking to my roommate about how i wish i could experience watching that show again for the first time. a masterpiece.
11. something you want to do again next year?
if i can afford it i'd love to travel around for bastille's summer tour like i did a little bit for the eu tour last month. it was really fun to solo travel and i'd also like to make friends with some other fans but i don't really know where i'm gonna be location or job-wise by then, so i can't really book that yet and i also don't really 'like' bad blood that much lol
19. what are you excited about for next year?
idk i've just finished my masters so my life is kind of up in the air atm, but it feels like i'm kind of qualified to get into a job i'd like now, so that's also exciting. i guess my life is just (hopefully) gonna look completely different this time next year, so i'm excited to see what i'm gonna do and how that's gonna turn out
