Fact-checking “From Here to the Great Unknown”: Michael Jackson collapses on stage during rehearsal for his “One Night Only” HBO television special at the Beacon Theatre, New York, and is rushed to Beth Israel Medical Center North hospital (December 6-12, 1995)
He was about to do a giant HBO thing, and I think he didn't want to do it, so he feigned a fall and went to the hospital
It’s absolutely false Michael faked a “fall” to get out of the “One Night Only” HBO television special. He was rushed to the hospital with dangerous low blood pressure, and dehydration. Marcel Marceau and choreographer LaVelle Smith Jr., witnessed Michael fall face-first onto a hard metal grating without even putting his hands out to break the fall. People on set feared Michael had had an heart attack and died. It was a very serious, real medical emergency.
What Lisa, herself, has she said over the years, and what she describes next in the “memoir”, contradicts this claim she believed Michael had staged illness to get out of the HBO show. At the hospital, Lisa came to believe Michael’s very real collapse might have been caused by his excessive use of painkillers (exactly like her father). And, contrary to what Taraborrelli and the likes have tried to portray, Lisa was extremely worried about Michael, and immediatly flew from Los Angeles to New York, arriving the next day to see him, on December 7:
Karen [Faye], his makeup artist, told me that he'd totally planned it because he didn't want to do the HBO thing.
Karen Faye didn’t told Lisa anything at the hospital, at the time, because Lisa didn’t even like Karen Faye and thought she was another of the vampires around Michael. Ironically, this was confirmed by Karen herself:
After Michael’s death, Karen (who was fired in 2005 and returned in 2009) apparently changed her mind about Lisa and claimed they had a friendship, however Lisa, herself, only mentioned her once (when her Twitter account was hacked in 2013), and there’s one photo of them together at an event, around 2012. It’s possible Lisa, given her fragile and devastated state, did talk with Karen, or shared some conversations, but that’s very different from being friends with.
Karen started to share more “intimate” details about Michael and Lisa after 2016, when Lisa herself was involved in a messy divorce and custody battle with Michael Lockwood, struggling with drug addiction, going in and out of rehab. Meaning; Lisa was completely removed from social media when Karen starts to share several stories and claims to be a close friend of hers, which is sketchy to say the least. Karen’s shady behavior is well-documented by other Moonwalkers so I won’t get into that.
Karen has also been very vocal about memoirs on Michael, speaking against the biopic as well, yet had nothing to say about this one, which has a very damaging claim about her. It’s also the second story she’s somewhat involved in that made his way into this “memoir”.
However, this claim Michael staged his illness to get out of the HBO special is old news.
The first person to make this claim was La Toya Jackson in 1995, when she gave an interview to “New York Daily News”, saying her brother was “faking his illness to get publicity” and to escape the HBO special.
At the time, La Toya was completely estranged from her family and isolated from everyone, fully under the control of her abusive husband and manager, Jack Gordon, who forced her to speak against Michael and her family during this time, physically abused her, coerced her into marrying him, and pimped her around. After defending Michael against the 1993 allegations in August, she would change her tune completely on December, in a Tel Aviv press conference orchestrated and scripted by Gordon. She would only escape this marriage in 1996, with the help of her brother Randy Jackson.
This claim would return in 2005, by the hand long-time publicist, public relations manager, and vice president of MJJ Productions, Bob Jones, who was fired in 2004, when Michael found out he was writing a book on him. This book has to be “Michael Jackson: The man behind the mask”, where, alongside Stacy Brown, he makes very serious accusations against Michael, portraying him as a child molester and even calling tabloid reporter Diane Dimond (who has made her career out of the allegations against Michael) an “award winning journalist”. Jones took the stand in 2005 where, under oath, he admitted to have lied in this book.
“He had been contracted to do an HBO special entitled "One Night Only." The network had promised a worldwide audience of 250 million people. But once again the King of Pop was up to his old tricks. Something happened and he decided he didn't want to do the shows despite his agreement with HBO. You had to figure that he was up to something and he didn't disappoint. I had attended the rehearsal for the show at the Beacon Theater earlier that day and all seemed to be going very well. However, later, after I left, I got a call from Jim Morey saying that I better get back there because they were taking Michael Jackson to the hospital in an ambulance. Morey said I needed to rush back in order to be available to the media.”
— Bob Jones; from “Michael Jackson, the Man Behind the Mask: An Insider's Story of the King of Pop” (2005)
Now, to solidify this lie, Lisa Marie Presley autobiography was used, and hijacked. A autobiography tampered by Scientology and, apparently, others, as well. We know, for a fact, this wasn’t the autobiography she was working on at the time of her death, alongside Neil Strauss; that manuscript was discarded and replaced by a project Lisa, herself, never consent to, and never wanted.

Stacy: You should be out there having a life, doing shots and going flapper dancing. I don’t know what kids do these days.
October: Dude, we’re the same age.
Stacy’s family has been deeply weird since book 3 and it’s just been getting weirder. Weird Things TM include things such as
- Both Karen and Cassandra having prophetic gifts, when that is incredibly rare and shouldn’t be in their bloodline
- Cassandra being named after a famous prophet and turning out to actually be a prophet (If there’s a famous prophet named Karen, I don’t know about it and a casual google search didn’t show me any, but I wouldn’t be surprised). Coincedence? Maybe. Remus Lupin syndrome? Maybe but Seanan doesn’t strike me as a person who does that accidentally
- Toby stating that Oneiromancers usually see the future and the present and Karen on several occassions seeing the past/other people’s memories (Toby’s and Luna’s, though Luna’s could also be the dead Kitsune girl or prompted by the place rather than the person). Could just be bc Toby doesn’t actually know that much about Oneiromancers. Could be bc Karen is weird.
- The kids having thos fur tuffs on their ears, like lynx, when neither Stacy nor Mitch is describes as having lynx like ears.
- Stacy supposedly being thinblooded, but growing up with her pureblood grandparents who supposedly hated changelings. How does she have pureblood grandparents when Toby always said she was a quarterblood or somewhere thereabouts?
- Stacy not letting her kids date when she seems to otherwise be a very chill and normal mom.
- (i don’t remember where this was but I think) Toby at some point says she can’t entirely read exactly what race Cassandra is, which seems very strange with how otherwise good at this Toby is.
Now. Since we’re all (or I am at least) very into the theory that Marcia - another thinblooded changeling who is very weird - is in fact Maeve, it seems logical that Titania would also be hiding as a thinblooded changeling (especially with recent developements giving some more credibility to the “they’re hiding as mortals” thing). It’s certainly possible.
It would explain the kids’ weirdness - they’re firstborn, even though whatever magic is making Titania appear mortal, may hide some of their powers as well. That’s why their appearance, with the lynx ears is unique and why they manifest powers that are supposedly rare and not in their bloodline. It would also explain, Toby not recognizing Cassandra’s race - she’s something new, that Toby couldn’t possibly recognize.
However I’m not entirely happy with the theory. It seems almost too convenient and it doesn’t explain everything. Like, if Stacy isn’t aware who she is (and since Oberon didn’t seem to be super aware and Marcia - if she is Maeve - doesn’t seem to be super aware either), did she just subconsiously know Cassandra would be a prophet and named her accordingly? That would be possible, I suppose, if Oberon can remember enough to say “Lady let alone”. But why wouldn’t she want her kids’ dating? If she’s worried about starting new decendant races, shouldn’t she have just not had kids in the first place? Or does she just not want them dating other races? All of that would require a lot of awareness of who she is, which I’m not willing to believe she has, for the simple reason that
Stacy is too nice.
If Stacy is Titania and KNOWS this then she is WAY too nice, from everything we know about her, Titania was a Bitch.
There’s also the issue where Toby grew up with Stacy which opens a whole new can of worms, like how tf, does any of this work, do they just hang around as pretend mortal for 500 years? Do they die and get reborn as another pretend mortal? What??
So... maybe she’s Titania. Maybe her kids are just a new kind of merlin. Maybe Stacy and her family have figured out the secret to how merlins happen and are purposefully breeding them and that’s why she doesn’t want her kids dating random people (though Stacy seems too nice to do that kinda shit too).
Idk. But I know, that Something is most definitely up.

October Daye thoughts, since I'm dying of anticipation for book 15.
Spoilers likely for all previous stories.
1) Marcia. I want a thin-blooded changeling to be the Sensechal of Goldengreen. I don't want it to be because she secretly ends up much more powerful.
At the same time, the events and dialogue in The Unkindest Tide, even without any of the other information we receive in other books, would be eyebrow-raising. Marcia keeps looking at the ocean like it's home, and if Captain Pete is asking what are you / who are you, because something's wrong - well.
Changelings also usually have last names from their human relatives. Marcia's never been given a last name, and we all know Toby can't read her magic.
Seanan doesn't tend to leave loose threads like that unless they're incredibly important and will be returned to later. Strong possibilities for Marcia being Maeve, Titania, firstborn, or otherwise like... tasked to protecting some sort of secret, maybe even geased.
2) Stacy Brown. I don't want Toby to lose a friend like that, which if she were Titania, Maeve, or a Firstborn, their relationship would change dramatically. Toby deserves all the friends she can get. But there's so much weird stuff - two of her kids are rare Seers, and they all seem to have tufted ears.
I'm really hoping that she's maybe the daughter or granddaughter or related to a Firstborn instead.

The practitioners of curanderismo are called curanderos (masculine) or curanderas (feminine), and traditionally serve in what the modern medical society usually considers marginalized (rural, low-income, or professionally underserved) populations. Historically curanderos served as the primary healthcare providers in many communities, but with the rise of an exclusive system of modern healthcare the spiritual and herbal healing of the curandero is often dismissed by the strictly scientific and pharmaceutical medicine of the modern physician. As the role of the curandero inevitably diminishes, it is imperative that the healthcare community understand and utilize the positive and widespread influence of these traditional healers within the Hispanic community. At the core of conventional and traditional medicine is the necessity of communication between the “healer” and the patient. The cultural healthcare alternative of curanderismo is the choice for millions of United States residents.
