A 12 Card Spread
a whole reading of 12 cards for @melodymogai,
thank you again so much for your support it means so so much to me /gen
Card 1: Queen of Cups - Reversed
"The Queen of Cups represents the surface of the subconscious." - yoshi yoshitani guidebook.
reversed, this card refers to immaturity, selfishness, smothering, a counselor (perhaps the card acting as one), sulking and spite.
this card, in my deck, has a lot of blues and feels calm, though in reverse this card feels like more of a caution sign. Being a card in the suit of cups it talks a lot about feelings and emotions. It may be warning you that youre smothering someone or that youre too caught up in your own wallowing at the moment.
Card 2: Ace of Swords - Upright
"The Ace of Swords represents a sudden burst of inspiration." - Yoshi Yoshitani guidebook.
Upright, this card refers to new projects, truth, assertiveness, creative thinking and clarity.
Right away the art of the card, a hand clutching a sword in front of a tangle of knots, feels strong and triumphant like an "I have the solution!" victory kind of statement. To me, following the queen of cups, this card seems to be telling you that you have the solution to your current issue, possibly telling you that as a creative person you can make your way out of it or to express yourself through a new creation to help you feel better.
Card 3: Five of swords - Reversed
"The Five of Swords represents a fight won through deceit." - yoshi yoshitani guidebook.
Reversed, this card refers to resolution, compromise, sacrifice, peace and justice.
i get the feeling this card is saying "fake it till you make it" type of deceit rather than lying to someone to win a debate for example. It may be telling you to find a compromise, indulge in your happy places where you find it peaceful and continue to focus on that and tell yourself it will be okay, and then it will be. Even though things may not seem okay right now, they will be, you just need to get yourself to believe that first.
Card 4: King of Coins - Reversed
"The king of Coins represents stability and faithfulness." - yoshi yoshitani guidebook.
Reversed, this card refers to corruption, materialism, ruthlessness, authority and indulgence.
This card may be warning you of your own behaviours or speaking about someone in your life. The authority part it speaks of tells me theres an authority figure in your life who's possibly holding things over your head. perhaps they're the one who's being materialistic and ruthless, possibly abusing the authority they have and preventing you from finding a stable moment or place. then again going back to the warning you of your own behaviour bit, it may be warning you that youre giving in to materialistic vices to cope and you need to find something more stable and have faith in yourself.
Card 5: Four of Coins - Upright
"The Four of Coins represents greed, and unwillingness to open up or share." - yoshi yoshitani guidebook.
Upright, this card refers to hoarding, possession or possessive behaviours, financial stability, materialism and stinginess.
the art of this card shows a bird holding her wings protectively around a young girl and four large coins-possibly in placement on eggs. This bird feels like a watchful mother hen offering protection in her nest and under her warm feathers. though instead of this coming off as welcoming it feels more controlling and smothering, possibly a reference to when smothering was brought up in the first card.
Here we have yet again another reference to materialism and like the king of coins this card seems to be talking about an authoritative figure in your life or serving as a warning depending on how you take it. It may be talking about how the person, possibly a parental figure is affecting you financially, maybe theyre being overly controlling of your budget or how you spend your money and the card is here to tell you that your money is yours, its up to you how you spend it, they have no right to control that. Or possibly this card is pointing out that someone's being stingy wing money they need to give you, or you should start being stingy with your own money and saving up.
there are a number of ways you could interpret this card. but that can be said for all the cards, whichever meaning feels right to you is what you should go with.
Card 6: Knight of Cups - Reversed
"The Knight of Cups is a messenger." - yoshi yoshitani guidebook.
Reversed, the card represents heartbreak, infidelity, lack of diplomacy, moodiness and pettiness.
This card seems to be a messenger of someone else's concerns that you need to be aware of, perhaps something a partner or friend is holding back and isnt sure how to bring up, and this is a prompt to start a conversation with them. It could possibly be telling you theres someone who needs your support for something theyre going through.
Card 7: Page of Cups - Upright
"The page of cups is connected to his emotions and expresses himself wholly with youthful purity." - yoshi yoshitani guidebook.
Upright, this card refers to youthfulness, idealism, sensitivity, romance and spirituality.
a cute note, the art of this card shows a young boy with a playful little rabbit running around at his feet, this seems to be making the boy happy too.
This card is possibly telling you to enjoy things you like with a childlike glee, youre still young so you should enjoy things, let yourself be young while you still are. Its almost like a callback to the smothering mentions in previous cards where you may be acting like a parent to others you need to be reminded that youre still young and dont need to put a whole bunch of responsibility onto yourself, let yourself enjoy being young and responsibility free for the most part.
Card 8: Ten of Coins - Upright
"The Ten of Coins represents the hard-earned rewards of a difficult venture." - yoshi yoshitani guidebook.
Upright, this refers to inheritance, ancestry, pensions, settling down, financial stability.
This card tells me that good fortune, particularly monetary fortune, is coming your way but only after you've worked for it. all the hard work youre doing now and plan to do will prove fruitful in the end. this card is sort of serving as a boosting motivator to keep you going, affirming that all the trouble will be worth it in the end. you can do it, you'll get what youre working for.
Card 9: Nine of Coins - Reversed
"The Nine of Coins represents success." - yoshi yoshitani guidebook.
Reversed, this card refers to scams, superficiality, overinvestment, work-obsessed and being ungrateful.
With this card following the last one it seems like its continuing on from where the last card left off. "Yes you're going to be successful but.. you need to be wary of where you put your money, dont go trusting people who claim they can hold onto it for you if they dont have a record of sticking to their word", sort of thing. Be careful with how much you work, dont push yourself too hard just for the promise that it will be worth it, go easy on yourself while youre at it. Yes you can do it and you'll get there but dont overwork yourself.
Card 10: The Moon - Reversed
"The Moon is the subconscious and all its illusions, potential, pitfalls, and the possibility of self deception." - yoshi yoshitani
Reversed, this card refers to joy, enlightenment, resolution, deception revealed and relief.
this card seems to be talking about how you've come to realize things and are more at ease now that you know, especially about yourself. You may have just received good news or will soon and you'll feel a lot better about things the more you know. A lot of good news and feeling relieved by it in the message of this card.
Card 11: Ace of Coins - Reversed
"The Ace of Coins presents us with new beginnings, financial opportunities, and prosperity." - yoshi yoshitani guidebook.
Reversed, this card refers to bad finances, excessive spending, greed, stinginess and poor planning.
possibly referencing a previous card yet again, like the four of coins telling you about stinginess and greed, it could be warning you or cautioning you about how you care for your money and go about using it, or it could be referring to a person holding back. it feels as though this card is bringing it up again as a way to say theres a solution and it will get better. considering other cards talking about success, this solution it may be referring to could be a job coming your way.
Card 12: Seven of Cups - Reversed
Reversed, this card refers to reality, clarity, temptation, confusion and diversion.
This card's art is a reference to aladdin getting the lamp, the many lamps to choose from refer to many possibilities all with a chance of being an illusion, a wrong choice being giving into deceiving and tempting negatives like false promises. this card is warning you to be mindful and make smart decisions, dont be brash and choose quantity over quality but instead make a wise choice, take your time if you need it but do make a choice dont procrastinate it so long as you weigh your options carefully and come to a conclusion soon.
it seems to want to tell you to make a good choice for the benefit of yourself as you are at a crossroads right now. trust your gut but and dont stress it but still put your foot down and choose a direction or option you know will be best for you.
Overall Review and Conclusion
first off, im seeing a lot of coins and cups as well as reversed cards. Coins and Cups have their own meanings so this spread is talking a lot about emotional, mental and physical states. Theres a lot going on in your mind, your feelings might be mixed or overwhelming and the material things in life may be a cause or a vice.
Reversed cards dont always mean negative things it really depends on the card as upright and reversed are like two sides of the same coin (another coin reference though this one wasnt intended). in some cases the reversed brings up good things or are caution signs.
With the bring up at the start of things going on in your life and whats on your mind, for example environment, relationship and jobs, the later half of the reading goes back over that and offers some insight on how you might be able to handle it. some cards talk about the causes which is meant to help you come up with your own solutions as youre the key to making things better for yourself, like how the last card tells you to make your own choices.
its likely with ending on that last card, your reading is laying out whats going on, what the causes are and what might be a solution as well as reassurance, and its giving you that and telling you to make your choices with that information.
You need to remember that this is simply my interpretation, you may read this differently to me and thats okay. dont stress too much over things going on, do what you feels right, take care of yourself. you got this <2
tldr: you have a lot going on right now, but work on yourself and things will get better. take it one decision at a time and dont overwhelm yourself.
Its okay if some of this brings up questions for you im very happy to answer and attempt to explain further if you need.
my about tarot masterpost here if this helps any /lh
