So while I was stopped in Kentucky, we went to a little store to take care of things. I began looking around and spotted a cute keychain that was like $3 and said "oh! We should get a keychain from every state!" I was met with a firm "No"....that was really more like a "Hell No...." So, me being me I saw this spoon and remembered that my mom used to have a spoon board a long time ago. How neat! I could do this! Spoons don't take much space and range in a variety of prices. I thought this could be a nice thing to do. So, I went up to the register with my tea and set the items on the counter, along with Stevens drink. I am met with a very serious look of put that back. I return with a shove off look. Then he says, "I'm not paying for that." "Oh yes you are." The cashier looks slightly uncomfortable and is unsure of what to do. I then say, " This is something that would be fun to do. We're not stopping and taking pictures with every state sign. This is a cheap way to make our trip more fun." He looks at me, I smile and say " All together please." Once we are safely in the car, that's when he starts....I say, "Well, I DID want the $3 key chain but you said no. Sooooooo I then went for the $5 spoon." He looks at me incredulously and says, "That doesn't make it better!!" .... Oh well I ended up with the spoon and am now in search of more along the way. My stop in Illinois proved to be unfruitful.... That is depressing.... But! Fear not! I will find more along the way :)
