work's been awefully busy, next week is going to be intense, and with temperatures rising again, I'm dreading it a bit. Haven't been painting much? A little bit of bascoating and airbrushing. Would be nice if I'ld manage to finish the hydra this week. I'm tinking about using oilwashes might speed things up, and when it's hot the oil dries faster too. I'll see.

When I was 11 my mom gave me her collection of Spellsinger books to keep me occupied. She did warn me that the main character goes to a fantasy world by doing psychedelic drugs and that that was bad. Got it. 👍
I was halfway through the book when I brought it back to her and said, “mom! There’s swearing in this!”
“Oh? I don’t remember that but I did read it a long time ago. Here, just mark the swear words out with a pen.”
Pretty sure I only marked out this one word, and after that I started to practice saying it when no one was around. 😂
I don’t remember much about the series except that the second book was spiders and the third had a naked woman who just went around being naked for way too long (and also had no agency, obvs). I stopped reading it after that. But I do still have all the books on my shelf if I ever decide to go back.

Yes, this is an old book I used to read and loved when I was a kid. I only read up to book 6 but I think the series kept going after that. Thought the color of the polish matched the design around the edges. Always love being reminded of books I enjoyed as a kid.
