Post time!
It’s been a hot minute. Like a week or two but I wanna take a moment to yap about the Artemis Mission. More specifically the way I feel about it
SPACE
With those four brave astronauts home safe and sound I can’t help but feel hope for a better future. Things are bleak and everyday is just something bad on the news it seems like but this Mission has brought me inexplicable amounts of joy and hope for a future for humanity. We as a species went back to the moon after so long and those four brave people came back safely.
Im so happy. Genuinely. Every post I see on here about the mission makes me so happy I have to stop because I start crying. Thank you NASA and thank you Artemis. You guys continue to bring good news and information everyday despite it all and I cannot be more appreciative of it.
I love space. It’s cool. Im excited for the future for once because I want to see more missions to space.
Humans went to the moon again. We did it. Idk which one of them said but one of the four stated this was every person, not American and he cannot have been more right. Thank you guys.
GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!
(well it’s still a provisory confirmation and I won’t be able to leave my current position for a few months anyways BUT)
Moving to a new post to talk about the history of contact with Earth!
In 408974347, a high-profile Galactic Federation ship transporting a Klapokian ambassador to Turo dropped off radios and was thought to have crashed. The remains of the ship could not be found, but UGF members were able to track its trajectory to Earth. This was the first time in hundreds of standard galactic cycles that Earth got significant attention in the news!
The 408974350s and 408974360s were a great time for early Earth Studies, as the United Galactic Federation sent people to study Earth and try and find the location of the crashed ship.
But there were also a bunch of regular people travelling to Earth out of curiousity and nearly screwing up everything for the UGF... in fact, the sheer amount of space tourists and the danger of primitive presapients gaining access to advanced technology, eventually, in the early 408974370s, led to the United Galactic Federation to consider what the final solution to dealing with Earth would be.
It was in 408974373 that first official contact was made between the United Galactic Federation and the government of Earth. At that point, members of the council were leaning towards destroying Earth in order to prevent danger to the rest of the Federation. But proper first contact allowed a dialogue between Earth and the Federation, eventually resulting in Earth being labelled as a wildlife preserve. A treaty was made between the United Galactic Federation and the Earth government to prevent the majority of humanity from learning about aliens!
That was when the field of Earth Studies really took off, as we actually had direct contact with Earthians for the first time! People learned about Earth's history, about the creatures on it, etcetera!!!
Sometimes I think about what it was like for those early scholars of Earth. I wasn't hatched until after proper first contact, so by the time I gained interest in Earth there was already a lot for me to study, but I wonder what it would have been like learning about the planet for the very first time!
Did you get to decide what colour Thunderbird 3 would be? If it had to be a different colour, what would you choose?
Sure did. Can't say I could do much better now. Red just suits a rocket, don't you think? But I've been told that adding a lavender strip would be nice. For no reason, I hear. If I was convinced to change her color.

Like mites in a plum
I have more pictures! I'm gonna clear them up tomorrow and post them but the skies tonight are so pretty!
Trying to get a picture on your phone?
Here are the settings I used, Because the standard sky may be to faint to make out all the colours clearly but with a little bit of extra exposure and camera time you can!
I would be happy to explain why in terms of space reasons but I'll answer questions in the morning as its very late rn.
So, (Android phone) - Sorry apple users i dont know the direct steps but i imagine they are similar
Go into your camera and click More, and then click the Pro camera (the night mode works but the pro camera comes out more clear)
From there you'll have a few setting on the bottom you need to change the ones we are changing are in yellow!
ISO - Is how sentisitive the camera is to light, I cranked this all the way up to my phones max settings (3200)
Speed - Shutter speed, is how long you have the shutter open for, basically how long the light can get into the camera for. (set yours to something your comfterable with I used 4 seconds for most of mine.) Cause i have really shaky hands.
Then, point at a region of the sky, Youll be surprised at how different it is to your eye vs the camera, but you'll know it's above you because there's some lines which sit across the sky that look different to clouds.
If your not sure, test a region with a picture, you can move on to a different region if you don't get anything!
Take the picture and hold your phone steady until the timer is up and then hopefully you'll have some pretty pictures too!
I'd love to see any that people take tonight state side! Please please tag me if you do!
Here are some more straight ones from me for now! (They are very blury but these were taken with the 10 second timer)
Hope this helps you!
Happy stargazing/skywatching! :D
