“You don’t have to get me a gift, you know,” Robbie began.

Daisy gave him a dry look from across the room, not even bothering to reply before she returned to her task.

See, SHIELD Agents didn’t get holidays. Not really. Supervillians didn’t tend to respect Christmas Vacation when hellbent on blowing up the sun, or whatever.

This, of course, also applied to birthdays.

Robbie, personally, didn’t care much about a few missed birthdays. But, Daisy did which led them here - or as he has been informed, to Operation Get Him A Birthday Present.

Which consisted of her going over his room with a fine toothed comb, searching for items that would give her a good jumping off point for gift ideas.

(She could just ask him)

Robbie watched from his position on his bed as Daisy zeroed in on his closet. The last place in his room that hadn’t been inspected.

It wasn’t long after she began to pull stuff out of his closet, that she made a quiet noise of interest that drew Robbies attention.

Daisy turned toward him, showing him what she’d found with a raised eyebrow. “Ninja Wolf?” She teased.

“Oh. Those are Gabes,” Were Gabes, he mentally corrected. Ninja Wolf had been his little brother's childhood hero, and he’d amassed quite the collection growing up. Until one day he packed them all up and asked Robbie to give them to Goodwill.

In Robbie’s defence, he tried, okay? But, he just couldn’t bring himself to get rid of them and put the box in his closet when Gabe was at school.

Daisy stood up, the first few issues clutched in her hands and plopped down on the bed with him. Mission to find him a present temporarily forgotten as she began a dramatic reading of the first issue of Ninja Wolf.

And Robbie wouldn’t have it any other way.

I am so so sorry to disappoint, but the Peggy AU has... nothing to do with Peggy Carter. Peggy is Jemma’s adoptive daughter from this story where Fitz is her HS teacher. This sequel is completely outlined but for some reason, I never started writing it. I kinda fell out of writing FS in the middle, but at the same time I liked the idea... and again, it’s completely outlined, which is so very rare for me.

To answer your questions, this happens in an AU future where FS are ~35 years olds, and the heavily supporting characters here are both Peggy and Daisy.

Daisy stood there, blowing on her hot cocoa and watching the steam as it dissipated in the cool night air. Robbie was there too, but neither of them was looking at each other, they were instead staring off into the stars.

She wondered if they were thinking the same thing.

That it was cold as hell out here and it’d be warmer if they could stand a little closer to each other. That she shouldn’t have yelled at him back on the bus and he was right. This was more than a fling. This was something they needed to reveal to HR. Because it was real and maybe Robbie needed that right now. And Daisy was selfish to deny it.

She doubted Robbie was thinking any of that last part, but it didn’t help the guilt she felt.

“Robbie, I…”

He turned to look at her for the first time. The stars glittered in his eyes as his lips parted. He inhaled. “Daisy…”

“We can tell HR. This is… my feelings are real and we should come clean,” she babbled.

She heard his breath catch in his throat as he stared at her, likely trying to decide if she was being truthful or just spouting off what he wanted to hear. She hoped like hell she sounded genuine. She was trying to.

“Okay,” he said with a slight nod. “I was just going to ask if you were cold.”

He wasn’t either, but Daisy smiled all the same and stepped closer to him. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and squeezed, leaning down to kiss the tip of her nose.

“Also…” she glanced down at her cocoa. “Could you go heat this up again? This has become lukewarm chocolate and that’s no Bueno.”

He chuckled slightly and took the cup from her, setting it down so he could wrap both arms around her. “Can I do it in five minutes?”

hmmmmm good question... all my fics are pretty self indulgent, like self-indulgence is my prime motivator for writing fic lol.
