Sesshomaru x Kikyo is a crack ship, yes. They’ve interacted like three times incluiding the first movie as far as I can remember and Sesshomaru actually let her die I guess?? I mean he came too late and according to him, Kikyo’s death was actually Inuyasha’s fault.

BUT if you think about it, Kikyo might be the ideal parter for Sesshomaru. First, she gave zero fucks around him (And by fucks I mean being enthralled by his handsomeness and/or scared shitless)

Second, both share this otherworldly beauty like the whole IY plot started because a handicapped guy had the hots for Kikyo and wished for a body to a bunch of demons and oops something went wrong. They’re hands down the preittiest ship in all Inuyasha fight me.

Third, Sesshomaru in all his redeemed personality still needs someone as wicked as him, which makes me think that Kagura is a nice suitor as well. I know this whole Rin being his polar opposite to show him the warmness of human kind, but Sesshomaru is still a sadistic sonuvabitch demon. He likes to roam across the land killing worthy opponents and get pretty powerful swords, you know, demon things. Kikyo before her first death (lol) was a nice, kind and sacrificed priestess who had the worst luck and ended up dying the one and only time she gave her heart to someone. Her wickedness only came after her resurrection, and even though she still is the same nice and kind bamf priestess, Kikyo gave herself the freedom of accepting negative emotions, and being with someone whose whole life revolves around not so good emotions and behaviours (you know, KILL) but still protects his loved ones in his own tsundere way, might be good and healthy for her (let’s not forget that Kikyo had this huge prejudice against demons and the only reason she didn’t kill Inuyasha was because he was a half-demon). Also, she is a strong, elegant and independent woman he can’t say no to that.

And last but not least, Rumiko said it herself: Kikyo was Sesshomaru’s type. We could’ve had it all.

Now that that’s done with...

I have worked and/or played almost every prerelease since RTR. I know there’s been many tips given by people on how to handle the deckbuilding process of things, so I wish to offer my advice on other ways to have a good prerelease.

First off, take a shower before, put on deodorant, brush teeth, etc. A lot of shops are cramped spaces. Even properly air conditioned, you will be in close proximity to a lot of other people. This generates a lot of heat and makes it easy to smell each other. The less people smell of each other, the better everyone is.

Wear comfortable clothing. Rounds often will go to turns in a prerelease. It comes with the territory of a bunch of new cards and interactions along with new players. Make sure what you wear is something you can easily wear while sitting between 4 to 6 hours.

Eat before you go. A good, solid meal. Again, you will be there for 4 to 6 hours, and hunger can make people cranky. If one person is cranky, it spreads quickly. If you cannot eat before going, permitting your store’s outside food policy, bring something, or buy snacks at the shop. I suggest things with little grease and some sugar, such as a sandwich or granola bar. Eat away from play areas if possible. If you are attending a midnight event and aren’t usually awake at that time, coffee or an energy drink beforehand may be helpful.

If you are a smoker, make sure you have a fresh pack. If time is short between rounds and you are needing to smoke, wait for pairs, find your opponent, and speak with them and a judge for a possible extension.

Bring dice or a small notebook and pen, both if possible. It can be frustrating for someone to face an opponent that can’t properly mark gamestate in regards to things like counters.

Finally, if you have any questions about rulings, call for a judge or store worker if for some reason a judge isn’t available. Both have been reading up on how to handle situations that arise with the new cards and would rather spend 30 seconds explaining things than see an argument arise and disrupt everyone’s fun.

Seeing Chocobo make an appearance also made me smile, because hes such a cutie and the plushie I have of him is super adorable too. Thanks to Shiryu I got the Kugane sightseeing jump point with ease. And Ixion fate is not the most enjoyable - especially when the area is congested. I’ll maybe get all the horns I need for the mount by this time next year.. (Because I mean unless they make changes to it similar to the Fox Fate in Yanxia, that’s how it will be for most of us - and would alleviate the camping and stress, if the drop on the item was higher).
