about to be the friend that's too woke again but imo its not cute when people get the incredible privilege of watching luke newton act his heart out in HOM and the rare chance to actually meet him, talk to him, connect with him as an artist and a person… and then use him like some kind of courier service for nicola.
like…asking him to pass along a letter for her? or asking when he’s seeing her next? or to give her a hug “from you”? please. and don’t even get me started on asking if nicola helped him with his accent. because wow, that’s not only awkward, it’s borderline insulting.
luke is a seriously talented actor in his own right. he is not an extension of nicola. he is not a sidekick. they are co-stars. they have separate lives, separate careers, separate projects.
and i know some people see those interactions and go “aww that’s so sweet” but idk it’s actually…weird. it assumes they’re forever intertwined in real life, when in reality they’re just professionals who once worked on the same show. nicola has nothing to do with HOM, and that's okay.
he deserves better than to be treated like a messenger pigeon when he’s literally standing right in front of you, generously giving his time and energy.
