          the  scent  of  tea  is  thick,  in  the  air,  making  selene  feel  at  home  in  a  place  that  couldn't  be  further  from  it.  she  has  papers  spread  out  in  the  table  in  front  of  her,  filled  with  notes  and  outlines  and  a  list  of  character  names  that  she  hasn't  been  able  to  narrow  down  since  she  wrote  them  all  down.

          selene  would  love  to  say  that  she  was  focussing  properly  on  what  she  needed  to  be  doing,  and  what  needed  to  be  finished,  but  as  it  was  happening  increasingly  as  of  late,  she's  getting  distracted  by  the  face  behind  the  counter  instead.

On Aug. 24, Ukraine's Independence Day, Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the Wall of Remembrance in Kyiv to honor the memory of Ukrainian defenders who were killed by Russia's war. The two laid flowers and observed a moment of silence in their memory.

#Repost @kyivindependent_official with @use.repost . . . As of 11 p.m. local time, the number of wounded in the Russian missile attack on Chernihiv on Aug. 19 has risen to 144 people, including 15 children and 15 police officers, the National Police reported. The attack killed seven people.

The search and rescue operation is reportedly complete, according to authorities.

According to Chernihiv Oblast Governor Viacheslav Chaus, 41 people were hospitalized.

Russian forces targeted the city center of Chernihiv in northern Ukraine on the morning of Aug. 19, killing at least seven people, including a six-year-old child.
