Karabyts was born in Yalta, Ukraine (Donetsk Oblast) and attended the #kyivconservatory where he studied with Myroslav #skoryk Karabyts was inspired by the music of #gustavmahler #igorstravinsky and #dmitrishostakovich as well as others. In addition to composing #contemporaryclassicalmusic Karabyts also composed many well known Ukrainian pop songs. I passed by the beautiful Kyiv Conservatory during a trip in 1999 but for some reason chose not to take a picture!
