I love how fiber can act as a vessel for our caring. We take the love & concern we have for each other and channel it into our creations, knowing that when we give it away, a good bunch of our warmth goes with it... So was the origin of my newest idea: #socksets ~ I created this blend for a dear friend so that she could knit her Mother-in-Law something that would give comfort after the Carolina hurricane took her house.- I kept thinking about the simple comforts of home, sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, the warmth of handknit socks, the ear & laughter of someone who sees us through the hard days... And from there came a special self-striping sock-blend I’m calling “Hot Coffee/Toasty Toes”✨ I started with a special polwarth fiber that I had naturally dyed with coffee (!) & added some authentic Shetland wool... sprinkled in some superwash-merino/alpaca/silk/nylon top & finished it off with some alpaca/silk for luxurious strength. - In need of a little comfort myself this week, I carded up a second set just for me lol— I’ll show you how it spun up in the days to come 💕✨☕️ https://www.instagram.com/p/BouI9GknjMk/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=2a8oyfed2lpp
