Evenings are my favorite time of the day. Right after the sun goes down the horizon and paints the sky brightest shade of ochre, and a few stars start to appear before your eyes. You can keep the windows open without having to shut your eyes to the bright light, neither would your parents ask you to switch on the lights. Be afraid, but don't stop moving; Let me ask you a question, what's the most prominent human emotion? Is it happiness, that keeps ones dark and blues away from them. Or is it sadness, which keeps you going? One might wonder if it's bliss or ecstasy, or maybe if it's exasperation. Then you might be wrong, the most prominent emotion in being is fear. Fear is what drives you through your life. Fear is what gets the best or worst of you. When you're on the top of the world, the distress of being back on the ground is what drives you to realize that you'll hit the ground soon, is fear, so you relish every fleeting second of that moment. And when you're closer to the surface, the fear of missing this is what drives you to accept the desolation of that time. Every single human emotion is culminated from the fear of it or fear of lack of it. For one to travel through the numbingly dark forest, they must choose to be afraid. You must fear to feel it. You must be afraid. Does it happen with you too? That everytime you think about a certain song, a person pops into your head. That everytime cross a given path, glimpses of another person in the past pop into your head. Everytime you read a certain book, everytime you eat a particular ice cream cone at your favourite parlour, everytime you take out your year old poetry to read, it always reminds of a person or another. It's the habit of a human brain to form chains of thoughts, to associate memories with objects, to bind emotions to memories. A human isn't made of what he's doing but what he felt and made others feel. The relationship of a human's heart and his memories is much trivial than i can explain. But what I can say with certainty is that if you feel the feeling of being remembered and you remember someone yourself, you've done well enough. You've loved and been loved. You've left impressions on people's lives that they can't ever erase. One of my favorite quotes from the movie Remember me, " Gandhi once said, "Whatever you do in life is insignificant, but you do it anyway. Because no one else will". Although I say whatever you do in life is insignificant, but the fingerprints from the lives you've touched never fade away.
