Hey folks, so I wanted to have my update Friday out on time for once this week, but unfortunately fate did intervene. My blog namesake snake (say that five times fast), Ramsay the woma python, passed away sometime between yesterday and Wednesday night, and I found him yesterday. He was 20 years old, which is old, but snakes can live to 30 (?) so I was hoping to have him for a few more years at least, but….this last year he’d had a lot of trouble shedding, and hadn’t eaten for months (which again, is pretty normal for some male python species) and I guess if I’m honest he just hadn’t been as active or ‘himself’ for a long time. He was slowly aging and I didn’t want to accept it, because snakes live so, so long. And maybe I’d felt like I had my personal fill of grief. I don’t know.
But he did die and he was a good snake, so I’m not going to write today. I’ve got a poll scheduled for Patreon, but other than that it’s time to watch the silly pirate show on HBO and grieve for my silly old snake. RIP good buddy. Hope you’re swallowing down wallabies in the Dreamtime.
