Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex wrote a letter of congratulations to the new Smartworks Client Champions.
Meghan has been patron of Smartworks since 2019
Talent is like a spark, but hard work is like the fuel that keeps the fire going.
Have faith in yourself and you will achieve your dreams, no matter how challenging they may seem.
The Duchess of Sussex during visits to her patronage, Smart Works, that were featured at the September Issue of British Vogue Magazine.
Controversial Business Practices
Itâs no secret what Meghansâ goals were with her SmartWorks clothing line. Her bold choice of the one-for-one business model, afterall, isnât the most ideal for a brand that is aimed at charity. Her decision to donate one item for every one item sold, was made with profits in mind. So it came as no suprise when I came across multiple sellers on eBay that were selling pieces from Meghanâs SmartWorks collection for 3 times the storeâs asking price.
I wondered if these eBay sellers were more aimed at U.S. customers, as the clothing line was launched the U.K. and may not have been available for purchase in the U.S., so I dug deeper.
It seems that three of the pieces, the tote, the boyfriend shirt, and the shift dress were all made available for purchase in the U.S via each designersâs store website.
I also kept reading that some of the pieces had sold out before they even launched. This was rumored to have happened with the September issue of Vogue as well. (Screenshots taken from Skippyâs blog)
So, the question then becomes âWho is buying these items before theyâre being released? And howâ? I can think of only one scenario in which this could theoretically happen, and it involves our dear duchess taking intentory meant for the online store, and throwing it on eBay, for 3 times the price, to earn more money, AND skip having to donate an identical item to SmartWorks, for every item sold. Who really has access to this merchandise other than Meghan, before itâs even released? We have so many questions....
Was this all one giant scam? Because itâs looking like it the more I research:
If this is true, and it is easy to verify, then that means that Meghan didnât design anything, like she claimed. Another lie among the mounting pile of lies sheâs told us. For the price of these items, that is despicable. Unforgivable. Shame on you, Meghan. Shame on you. How shady. It seems that profits were all that were on any of their mindsâ. They donât care about SmartWorks. In fact, now I wonder if SmartWorks was even aware that Meghan & Co were doing this? Were they even asked? Did they give their permission? Was it all a rouse, so that Meghan could sell a clothing line, disguised as charity, by flying under the radar? Iâm questioning everything.
I donât believe a word that comes out of her mouth. After the fake pregnancy fiasco, she is never to be trusted again, in my opinion. To top it all off, I came across this: In true Meghan fashion, it wouldnât be complete without trying to get her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig back up & running:
Are.you.freaking.kidding.me? The Queen gave a hard âNoâ! when Harry begged her to allow Meghan to keep The Tig. So, why does Meghan think it would be any different now? Why has she renewed the trademark for The Tig? I will remain optimistic that she is just getting her ducks in a row for after the imminent divorce. Hopefully, this is a sign of whatâs to come. Combined with her hiring crisis PR firm Sunshine Sachs, Iâm praying that this shit show comes to an end, sooner, rather than later. The British people have been scammed enough by this woman.

Giving a speech at the launch of the SmartWorks capsule collection

SmartWorks doesnât work
The day has finally arrived. The day MM launches and reveals âherâ capsule SmartWorks collection that was supposedly created to kickstart womenâs confidence, careers, and motivation, removing the invisible wall of their socio-economic backgrounds. When anticipation turned into surprise, the tone changed . Five outfits were unveiled...and that was the entire collection. There was a plain undefined dress in two different -and indifferent colours-, a classic High Street type pantsuit, a stodgy overpriced white shirt, and a leather bag. The clothes looked like leftover stock M&S, John Lewis and Jigsaw had from four seasons ago.
We have to remind ourselves, all that we see before us, is for a charitable cause and not judge MMâs attempt to misguide the world. For the last 3 months, her PR team has been feeding articles to the press that MM was hard at work designing this collection. In fact what we all see is a rushed, last-minute mission to come up with a few items of clothing. What we see before us, is MM sliding her broken image under the carpet and overhauling it, with yet more virtue signaling, clean appearance, and self-empowerment jabber.
Having said that, itâs imperative to accept that female empowerment is not a term to be used for self-marketing purposes. There are thousands of women out in this ferocious world, who suffer either in the hands of men or in the claws of poverty. These women need to be reminded that their will is far more powerful than their fear. Women fear success more than men because theyâre at a disadvantage, whether its due to their culture, religion or traditions. Yes, women are still at a disadvantage in parts of the world and these women do not need a âbi-racialâ actress who married into royalty, and publically condemns her family and parades in exuberant designer clothing, preach them about empowerment and lifestyle.Â
In all honesty, itâs condescending.
