Lila as Volpina made illusions of missiles coming at heroes out of nowhere, but if it was Adrien's dramatic ass, you better believe there would be fighter jets of some super-duper secret and evil organisation like in Bolt movie who's goal would be to get the miraculous before Hawkmoth.

Suddenly Volperouge is not suspicious, but a another holder that arrived at lucky time.

He could be found out if Hawkmoth makes him get Ladybug to surrender her miraculous like Lila did, but here it could also be much better. Volperouge holds Adrien Agreste (illusion) hostage because he's dear to Ladybug. He demands her miraculous for his life, but when someone points out that it could be an illusion, he drops him.

Ladybug jumps to save him in fear, but when she touches Adrien, he dissapears cause he's a fake, the real one is still on top with the akuma.

When she says that he's bluffing and would never threaten real Adrien, he dangles "real" Adrien right above her by the leg, which is when she's hit by the stuff falling from his pockets: his phone, some change, a wallet, and most importantly her lucky charm.

Suddenly when Volperouge start to let go one finger at a time she's not so brave anymore and the Ladybug miraculous is almost taken, but heroes some-fucking-how save the day yet again.

This would make for AMAZING "Prepare for the trouble! And make it double!!" situation when like on Heroes Day every akuma victim is akumatized again and it's Volperouge and Volpina outright bending the reality with their illusionary powers.

Maybe instead of focusing on Ladybug and other holders, they go straight for Marinette to torment her by letting her think they might know she's Ladybug when in reality they absolutely DO know she's Polka-dotted Bug Hero.

Chat: Hey Ladybug! You did a good job today!

Marinette: (slight panic) What are you talking about? You literally saw me standing right next to Ladybug today! Ha ha, me as Ladybug? No way!

Chat: Well, when you said Ladybug gave you the Mouse Miraculous so you can help rescue Tikki and Plagg, I thought to myself: "That doesn't make sense. Why would Ladybug get another Miraculous and give it to someone else instead of using it herself?"

Marinette: Uh...

Chat: But then I realized that if all those Kwamis were there, then maybe Ladybug just stayed behind to wear the other Miraculouses.

Marinette: Well...

Chat: But when you de-transformed next to Ladybug, neither of you were wearing those other Miraculouses, and I thought to myself: "That's odd." But then I remembered that I thought you could be Ladybug earlier and Plagg was like "What? No way?" like he was denying something. So I figured that what I saw must be an illusion to make me think Marinette isn't Ladybug since after today it's pretty clear me and Ladybug go to the same school.

Marinette: We do? (realizes what she just said) I mean you do! You! I'm really not Ladybug!

Chat: I didn't say anything at the time since Ms. Mendeleiev was still in earshot and we don't want to risk anyone else knowing your identity, but now the cat is out of the bag, I might as well show you who I am now. Claws in! (de-transforms) Surprise, Bugaboo! It's me, Adrien!

Chapter One (Trailer)

It had been a year since Shadow Moth had stolen the Miracle Box and all its miraculous from Ladybug and started calling himself Monarch. For Adrien, he started experiencing a lot more freedom. Ever since he got the courage to speak up to his father, things seemingly started to change. He was able to quit modelling, but his father did create a virtual avatar image of him as well as Lila Rossi for a new product for the Agreste brand: Alliance. The holographic ring that replaces your phone, Alliance can do it all: manage your appointments, navigate as GPS, post to social media for you, and more. All with his and Lila’s faces.

If he was being honest it made him uncomfortable. That sort of publicity is exactly what Adrien was trying to avoid when he quit modelling. But his father reassured him, reminding him of all the time he’ll have now to spend with his friends like he always wanted. His father even had more time to spend with him and Nathalie since Alliance was pushed out.

What the summer would soon reveal was that Adrien would be spending most of his newly acquired free time – both from quitting his father’s brand and summer break from school – as Chat Noir, fighting Monarch’s new miraculous-wielding villains with Ladybug.

Except, they never had the miraculous on them.

It was thanks to Nino they discovered that magic lightning bolts – invisible to the naked human eye – were probably responsible for Monarch’s new ability to transfer the power of the miraculous.

Nino…

It was shortly after Ladybug had become the Guardian – and just shortly before Monarch stole the Miracle Box – that Nino had told Adrien that he was Carapace and Alya was Rena Rouge.

He was happy for his friends, but was jealous Ladybug allowed them to know each other’s secret identities. He thought the rules she’d laid out to him had applied to everyone else with a miraculous, too.

But it was different for the wielders of the miraculous of creation and destruction, she’d explained to him. And he understood. It just wasn’t fair.

Even without a miraculous, Nino proved committed to Ladybug and Chat Noir. He started up the Resistance against Monarch, recruiting all their classmates and successfully captured a mega-akumatization on video, which was how they discovered the magic lightning bolts.

It still didn’t explain how Monarch was doing it, but it was something.

Marinette was actually the one who suggested Alya post their findings on the LadyBlog to ensure Ladybug and Chat Noir saw it. And it was her encouragement that gave him the confidence to speak up to his father.

She’s so amazing, Adrien thought.

It was all he could think about as he got ready for school that morning. He even drew her pigtails with a heart in the condensation of his bathroom mirror from his morning shower.
