Um, Passimian isn’t the reason SM064 was banned. I mean I guess we never got our confirmation, but I find it believable it’s because of the scene where Lilie is painting Satoshi’s face literarily black, to match Passimian.

Passimian is not a reason to have a episode banned. It already appeared in dub anywho, in SM082. And apparently SM081 had Passimian too. And SM092. And SM100. See how the dub’s already proved to not banning Passimian?

I could kinda count that and use one in a Satoshi theme team I guess :P I hope they appear again, there are many recurring Mons in Melemele already so highly possible. It’s a shame that this episode will probably be dismissed and dissed as mere “filler” (cause after 20 years people still don’t seem to understand that Pokemon is primarily an episodic show and that an episode’s value shouldn’t just be judged on how it effects the ongoing story but how creative and memorable it’s in its own right, but hey, maybe by the 30th anniversary we’ll have gotten somewhere. :] ….nah) cause I quite liked it, Satoshi formed a real friendship with the Nagetukesaru and it felt good seeing them all come together in the last game, the little one was the turning point! That part had surprisingly impactful presentation too, they got Iwane for the ball game and used the epic SM Champion theme again. My personal favourite moments were probably Suiren lying that she could understand Satoshi’s monkey speak, and her coming up with Nagetukesatoshi. I love her so much she’s the best. 

God damn that was a good episode. Good mix of serious and humor regarding the Nagetukesaru/Passimian and their boss play. And my god I adore Satoshi and his willingness to help Pokemon out, it’s so pure ;v; And Sun & Moon’s “filler episodes” end up being my absolute favourite episodes, like, not many shows do that! Before Pokeani, I’d have skipped filler episodes. Now I refuse since I could def miss out golden material episodes!

The Nagetukesaru definitely reached a place in my heart after this episode. They’re so adorable and amazing, and the way they interact with Satoshi and Junsa is nice to see. Red Buns were mean and full of themselves (and so freaking huge), I’m glad they eventually lost the rematch >:( (The scene where Satoshi is looking at them at the start is freaky intense.) Even Kaki finds them annoying since they once broke stuff in their farm! How rude!

I already mentioned this, but Mokuroh was so god damn adorable in this episode, and I just love that birb so much! ♥ Being a throw ball between Suiren and Satoshi was kinda cute, since it just flew to the direction it was thrown to. It didn’t seem impressed with Satoshi’s grab hold first thou :D

And I love how they all accept Satoshi as a silly pure person he is. Great group of friends, the kind I like ♥ Lilie coming up with the suit, Kukui being alright with Satoshi attending the classes as Nagetukesatoshi - just so god damn pure.

The other half of the show where Nagetukesatoshi (name given by Suiren, gosh Suiren is a great persona) comes into play is amazing! He seriously blends into the group of Nagetukesaru of Melemele, even if it did take some time, and the small one that first befriends Satoshi is adorable!! I’m weak for such cuteness ;v;

Melemele Greens eventually win with everyone’s efforts, and Satoshi became the boss of the group lol. But oh my god, the Poke Problem segment! I’m telling you, do not skip these! It was freaking adorable, all of Satoshi’s pokemon being worried about Satoshi, even Pikachu questioning Kukui’s confidence, but then a whole pack of Nagetukesaru come back with Satoshi carried on their hands. I could not have hoped for better Poke Problem scene!

Honestly, Satoshi befriending the whole group and initially becoming the boss of the pack is way better outcome than befriending one and catching it. I mean... Satoshi can literarily just go to them and ask them for help? Right? :D I somehow believe we’ll see them again!  And the PokeProblem question makes me believe there’s two more packs of Nagetukesaru in Ula Ula and Poni Islands, so we might see those packs someday? Maybe? At least they’re fanfic material!

Oh, and OST keeps on being amazing. Pokeani, never disappoint!

So, another Pokémon episode got banned for mistaken blackface. Quoting Bulbapedia, in SM064 “Ash and Passimian! Touchdown of Friendship!!“, Ash hopes that by acting like Passimian that he will able to communicate with them effectively. [...] The three girls make Ash a Passimian costume complete with complementary makeup.

That’s all. No mocking, no black culture offense. Only a boy who want to communicate with (and befriend) angry pokemon, which happen to be black (and white).
