#sliuh

I’ve been doodling up Sliuh in my sketchbook to take a break from dragons for smaugust. Most of it is messing with how far I can push how his face can warp and redoing a few things with his skeleton.

Additionally, here are a few pages of inks of Sliuh, two of them are the ones I colored, these are just the uncolored ones to show how they looked initially.

The second image is a bit of a thought on how his skeleton would work/ fit together. I figure his bones can slide around, when relaxed they’re extended out like he usually looks, and when tensed they can shrink down to fit inside a human skin. Alternatively, they might shrink their bones down to make them more reinforced/resistant against breakage.

I decided to make a character that could act as something of a rival/antagonist for Susuh. This is Sliuh, which also preys on the villagers of the northern hemisphere for their skin to wear.

Sliuh however is something of a predator that camouflages among its prey, wearing the skin to blend in and kill without drawing suspicion. The facial bones and limbs shift in order to fit into  a humanoid body better, the goopy look is a sort of lubricant/sustenance to move easier in the borrowed skin and to keep it from rotting or loosing color. Also it enters and exits the skin through the mouth so it probably allows it to stretch a bit better than it usually would.

Decided to illustrate something I had been thinking about from the other evening. The creatures in the northern region of the headworld have their own sort of community going on, some monsters mesh well with others and some do not.

I made some more inks of Sliuh since I’m sort of on a kick with them.

When it comes to eating they like to preserve the skin of their victims if they intend to use them in the future. So, in order to keep it intact they will go in through the mouth and eat the body from the inside out.

I’ve been doodling Sliuh more as of late, mostly getting out some ideas that had been in mind for a while but never really were drafted. One was how their faces looked when they had readjusted them to fit inside a human skin.

The other idea is one I had where a Sliuh could make themselves look human from afar to lure a villager into the woods. They can easily speak their language, usually learned from hearing them sing during the evenings.

There are often victims whom did not know better about the dangers of the Sliuh and were lured into the woods by a lovely song, only to find that once they got closer the disguise fell away and they were met with pointy teeth and glowing blue eyes.

Some other stuff with Sliuh. I thought it would be fun to explore them a little bit more.

Sliuh and Susuh tend to clash often over prey, since both of them want the skins. However, while Susuh are cursed creatures and are in search of their missing skin, Sliuh are more interested in getting a meal and a disguise.

I had wanted to doodle up some Sliuh again. This time a villager had wandered the wrong way while walking in the woods, and ended up stumbling upon the territory of a family group.
