wake  up  babe  !   a  new  extremely  depressive  ,  concerning  ,  &  ultimately telling playlist  just  dropped  .

you're speaking but she's not responding, and for a moment it seems that she's willfully ignoring you. but then she turns, and you can see the airpods in her ears. she takes one out to smile at you. "sorry, i couldn't hear you - i had this playlist on full blast. can you repeat that?"

with   your   shoes   firmly   planted   above   soft   soil,   you   look   at   tranquil   waters   and   bask   in   the   peace   you   haven't   felt   in   a   long   time     .      when   someone   calls   your   name,   you   slowly   look   behind   your   shoulder   and   immediately   hit   pause       .       you've   been   taught   it   was   not   courteous   to   tune   people   out,   even   if   you   didn't   want   to   hear   them       .

maybe  you’re  not  doing  sprint  ladders,  four  corners,  or  strides  anymore.  you’re  not  even  benching  the  same  weight  you  used  to  ( was  the  bar  always  such  a  bitch  to  rack  by  yourself? )  and  you  traded  out  dumbbells  for  resistance  bands.  but  nevertheless,  the  headphones  get  put  on,  the  music  still  plays,  and  you  ignore  the  aching  in  your  shoulder.
