For some reason, I’m imagining Optimus sparring with the warframes he’s meant to be supervising. I love the idea of Optimus waking up at the end of the premiere with a massive jump in skill. (And maybe any upgrades he got in the past carry over thanks to the key?) Optimus using a familiar sequence of moves against Blitzwing or better yet, using something Blitzwing taught him to score a win against the triple-changer, and Blitz and Wings are like “oh, he’s not bad for an Autobot,” while Zing is >:O

Also I love that Zing is the only one who kind of remembers because it plays into my headcanon (which is based on cartoon logic, NOT any sort of understanding of real world disorders) that the Random personality is what’s left of the original Blitzwing after the Icy tactician and the Hothead berserker split off.

And Sky-Byte! I imagine that Optimus enjoyed his works even before the time travel, and meeting Sky-Byte in person turned him into a true fan. The reason Sky-Byte’s one of the few people who’d recognize Optimus now is that they spent a lot of time together talking about his poetry. (Maybe Optimus thought that if he could raise awareness of Sky-Byte’s poetry early, he could show people another side of the warframes? Maybe he tries to find and encourage other warframes who are passionate about the arts?)

You are so right. Bumblebee is off to the side asking Sari if she can upgrade his processor too while Optimus is having longing stares at something he doesn't know was real or imagined. Zing is dealing with the uncanny feeling that he knows Optimus despite knowing such a thing to be impossible.

Sky-byte and Optimus do indeed talk about his poems, mostly because it's a new side of Decepticons he hadn't actually realized that they can do. Since from how he was raised Decepticons were taught as existential threats to peace rather than people. It's one of those things that made him first take pause on his whole "I need to kill Megatron" plan. In the present he takes pride in that Sky-Bytes haiku are actually somewhat renowned.
