Good skin day these past 2 months 💞
(Excuse the lack of eyebrows and roots I’m a key worker in this pandemic-can’t do it all)
THE INKEY LIST C-50 Blemish Night Treatment.
Night two of using it, the review will form when it is needed. I am drafting as first thoughts now.
I do cleanse using the Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser due to the reviews and recommendations. Whilst I was on their site I thought I would try this product. I need a nighttime treatment and this has great reviews that matched the cleanser.
Has anyone used this before or if there is any acne prone skin related products from #inkeylist that I need to try, hit me up!
Face mapping- what is it and should we trust it?
If you have acne or skin issues you have probably seen one of these before. They are usually from eastern medicine practices and they say that according to where you acne is, it directly correlates to another internal organ.
For example acne on your nose is because of a heart problem.
Should we believe them?
Well, eastern medicine is typically better at preventing problems and treating them herbally contrasted to western medicine which is typically hash and treats symptomatically. Make of that what you will. Scientifically I see no real backing or link. In the body there is no direct link, no direct nerve or blood vessel from the the corners of your forehead to your bladder, or from your colon to your lower cheek.Â
Also a lot of these face maps are different, linking different organs to different sections of the face. Which one should we use to treat and learn about our acne?
However there are some correlations that I have seen to be true. The jawline being related to hormones for example. I have hormonal acne and I do always get it around my mouth, chin, jawline and going down my next. This is an area that some face maps do make the link to hormones. And I know my acne is hormonal as it gets awful on my period and I use birth control to balance my hormones. This I do not think supports face mapping though, as this is an area where your glands and lymph nodes are located, so it is the place where hormones travel.
But other links that the face maps make I do not trust or see to be true. If you get a pimple in the small section in between your eyebrows that does not mean you have a problem with your liver. You could have not removed your makeup or be using the products that caused the pimple.
My final thoughts
I like that face mapping encourages an acne sufferer to look beyond their skin for answers and help with curing their acne. From my experience to effectively treat acne your whole body has to be healthy and at its best. Face mapping makes someone look into their overall health.
But it is not practically useful. You can not trust a map to refer to to help find the cause of your acne.
Update on how my back is looking. It’s really really hard not to pick when all your thoughts are telling you otherwise. Trying to stay strongÂ
