sorry hatey
"Skeleton" King Origin Headcanon
Something that always bothered me about the villain from Super Robot Money Team, was his name. "Skeleton King". Which is so funny to me, because the series actually reveals he isn't a skeleton at all, in any way. For some reason, he actually has living organs despite allegedly being an "undead" creature. The ep I, Chiro reveals his body to have been robotic, with wires connecting his head. As well as the fact that his skull was actually only ENCASED in bone, and what lay beneath was a skull made entirely out of pure crystal. Aside from his face shell, he isn't made of bone at all. He's not a skeleton. I also found it strange that the Alchemist would wipe the Monkey's memories of him, despite the fact that he had completely changed appearances. Sure, he did it to be safe, but. Even so, it was unusual to me. The transformation process was also revealed to have been slow. He deteriorated over time, having enough time to finish the Silver Monkey, if not perhaps more.
So I've been thinking. Since the Alchemist built the monkeys their robotic parts by mixing science and magic... surely he did the same to himself? I don't mean to go all purple-guy on you, but I say the Alchemist was slowly rotting and falling apart, as his living flesh could not heal from the corruption process when the Dark One grabbed him. But the Alchemist fought back. He fought back by building a robotic body for himself in hopes that it would slow the infection, in hopes that he could stop himself from turning undead and/or evil. Each new part, while an agonizing replacement process, proved fruitful as it did indeed buy him more time. All the more reason to wipe the Monkey's memories of him. Because they'll know exactly what became of him, exactly what he looks like, as well as the painful memories that came before the end, as they helped him. They helped build his body, and they helped him resist it. But it wasn't enough. The day finally came where it reached his brain, and he could no longer resist it, and he gave in.

There are a couple of days left until the New Year 🐧
Hey, im sorry to bring up old work but is it possible you can reupload your old skeleton king artworks? Your old art is just as amazing and i would hate such a lovely work become lost media :(
Hey there Anon. Sorry for the late reply.
I am sorry to say that I don't have much of my childhood artwork save bits here and there. There was a house fire my family experienced back in 2016 and I lost several of my belongings, including some of my old traditional drawings.
But I do have a few things relating to Skeleton King I was able to find like these marker drawings of him. I always liked drawing him with silly expressions xD
I also have some drawings of the Alchemist - Sadly, I don't have the original drawing anymore. But I plan on doing some new drawings of him very soon :)
Skeleton King and the Alchemist have always been my favorite character(s) from the show. They're just so interesting to me. Once I found out they were the same person, I was I N T R I G U E D (lol)
I always imagined the Alchemist to be a benevolent individual despite his want to be separated from society. Quirky and curious, with a taste for the unconventional; An appreciator for life and creation whereas Skeleton King was an omen for death and darkness.
This image above, is of my fan interpretation of TV Monster before they became a herald for Skeleton King. Imagining that the Alchemist built the machine to assist him with collecting data about the world around them. I called this "good" version of the character Tele-Monitor. I feel like TV Monster doesn't get any love, which is a shame because I think they're neat OvO
Thank you for asking this! I wish I had more to show but hopefully I can make up for lost art with creating newer things. So keep an eye out in the future ;)
