as  the  designated  party  spot,  it's  obvious  that  hosting  the christmas  party  would  fall  on  kate's  shoulders.  and  personal feelings  aside,  she's  never  one  to  turn  down  a  potentially  good time.  and  honestly?  it's  actually  kind  of  a  good  time.  even  if she's  stuck  wearing  a  nightmare  of  a  sweater,  complete  with  a scary  looking  rudolph  and  an  actual  light  up  nose.  though  that might  be  the  weed  talking.  her  loft  is  packed,  some  drinking games  happening  in  the  living  room  area,  people  smoking  out on  the  balcony,  and  smiles  all  around.

elbows  on  the  counter  and  drink  in  hand,  she's  able  to  actually breathe,  to  take  a  break  from  playing  host,  at  least  for  a  little bit.  but  she's  not  alone  for  long.  nope,  kailee  has  waltzed  up  to her,  twinkle  in  those  lovely  eyes.  there's  something  mischievous in  them  and  something  about  that  makes  kate's  heart  skip  a beat.  it's  not  until  kai  glances  up  and  that  she  follows  her  gaze that  it  clicks.  brows  furrow,  confusion  etching  itself  onto  her features.  were  mistletoes  still  a  thing?  who  even  put  that  there? questions  she  can't  let  herself  ponder  for  long,  not  when  she's got  an  expectant  kai  peering  at  her.  her  expression  relaxes before  she  looks  back  and  umber  hues  meet  each  other.  it's silly,  putting  so  much  weight  on  some  weird  holiday  tradition. she'll  keep  telling  her  that  as  she  steps  forward  and  leans  in, lips  hovering  over  kailee's  for  a  beat  before  kate  leans  back  and over,  pressing  her  lips  up  against  her  cheek.  

and  there's  a  smirk  on  her  lips  as  she  leans  back,  bringing  her cup  to  her  lips,  but  taking  a  pause  before  taking  a  sip,  ❝  nice try,  amore.  you're  gonna  have  to  take  me  out  to  dinner  first.  i'm a  lady  after  all.  ❞  is  that  a  hint?  maybe  it  is.  but  she  won't  give kai  a  chance  to  answer,  nope,  she'll  side  step  and  glide  back into  the  party.  what can she say? she  loves  playing  guessing  games.
