Very short skate week rink-wise, but actually put in some work on breaking in my AR2s and getting used to skating in a flat boot. Definitely took me some getting used to, and a stupid long time to realize that duh...no heel. Also I had to loosen up my trucks a bit and I think they need just a bit more, they're almost perfect. Brand new skates = tight trucks. Didn't really get much done overall but still grateful to be able to spend any time on wheels, period. Finally got back to the rink to break in my new AR2s, but things didn't go exactly to plan and just barely got a lil practice in. Best laid plans, ya know? In today's episode of skate practice, we learned cramps and skating doesn't exactly mix...also that this is a long ass week (I say on a Tuesday).😫 I didn't get any laps in because I was such a struggle bus, and I need to clean these wheels, that was a bit of an issue. Also, I totally fell (am fine) just standing there like a dumb ass. Not even rolling in the slightest! 🤯🙃 On the plus side, I am slowly learning to cannonball for something OTHER than falling! And to get back out of it without eating shit. Kinda. Two things: First, I was hoping to skate today cuz um, Hello Perfect Song?!?? And next, I look like a Lisa Frank fever dream in this one-of-a-kind, custom @onthemarqjumpsuit that Nita made for me for my birthday week last month. Rainbow leopard fantasy, even if I look like a rainbow leopard sausage.😂 It makes me so happy and it is the only one! All mine!! This is the last day I can make skate club this week so bummed about that, but I was able to get rolling on bigger wheels today! So woo! Tried out my Sure-Grip Fame wheels today and holy crap...they are SMOOTH! Almost too smooth! 😂 I didn't fall but I could see how easy it would be! Also, might be just what I need to get a handle on transitions and turns. While I love my luminous wheels and their sparkly light up fabulousness, these were really fun!
