Gertrude Seiberling’s dressing room and bathroom at Stan Hywet Hall. The chair-shaped tub is a Sitz Bath. There is no shower here because Gertrude considered it inappropriate for women to shower, as did many of her peers in the early 20th century. Her daughters, however, insisted on having a shower in their bathroom.
